I have an athlete that has been contacted by West Point. The athlete is a great kid and sound student with better than average talent, who I think athletically would be a great fit at the academy.
I have very little knowledge of the academy and was wondering if there are any former athletes that frequent this board that may give a personal account of their time there? Any serious responses would be greatly appreciative.
Couple of his questions:
How demanding is the academic schedule when coupled with participation in track?
What is the commitment requirement after you graduate? 2 Year? 4 Years?
Being a teen, he is particularly concerned about interaction socially with women and his ability to "meet anyone that may someday be my wife!" He understands that there are women at West Point but is concerned about their relatively small numbers etc. etc.etc.
BTW: yes, I know we can ask the coach these questions, but I was looking more for firsthand knowledge from someone who has actually experienced West Point from an athlete's perspective.
