She should be. She's done and over.
I said it several times and all of you Salazxar cocsuckers said it was a rumor. Kara has been talking to several elite American coaches for weeks now. I don't know where she is going, but I knew she was leaving Alberto. SHE NEEDS A MARATHON COACH.
MTC has the most majors medals. I'm sure thay they'll enjoy living in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
She's the greatest runner in the world, in her own mind!
Toasted and over-cooked and full of more excuses than any runner in history.
A new Marathon Coach now, with a mere 3 months till the trials? Prediction: 6th place and then runs Boston.
My take on it wrote:
If this is true then it looks like they are preparing for German Fernandez. He would have Ciaran o Lionaird to do speed work with, and Galen + Mo Farah for longer distances. 4 years from now add Lukas and you have the best training group in the world.
Best training group in the world? There are kenyan HSs with equal times as this group!
U wanna see how arrogant she is, go to her blog site and try to post something that isn't praising her. I posted that Desi didn't think what she did was impossible, as Kara said, but that she worked hard and that's how she got where she is. Never did I swear or say anything negative about Kara, but of course the moderators would not post it because it wasn't praising her. Honestly, Kara is beyond full of herself and highly insecure.
I hope that she reads her own blog. Desi has figured out how to be successful in the marathon. Why not train with her and learn from her? Or go train with Paula. Although I think a 1 year rental in Rochester Hills would be the smartest because Desi and Kara would both be training for the trials and the games together on the same schedule. That would also put both of them in a much better place facing Shalane in the trials.
Smart or not, I've got news for you, she is far too arrogant to go train with Desi, it ain't happening. They train hard here whether at Stoney Creek or a track near by. Kara is not coming to Michigan and would consider it lowering herself. Her comments about 3 ladies doing the impossible is ridiculous at best. Desi doing what she did at Boston did not surprise us here in Michigan (no I don't run for Hanson's) but apparently it surprised Kara as she considered it doing the impossible because you believe. Give me a break. Kara was 3rd in Boston in 09', correct? She felt it was not good and that she should have won. So Desi taking 2nd is something close to impossible. Sometimes I can't believe what I read about her and what she actually says. Alberto is amazing, then suddenly it's time to move on. Bottom line is as was said by someone, she really is overrated.
Ritz was not included in the list of Salazar's athletes at the end of the article
Noticed that too. I hope it's an oversight.

Kinda reeks of desperation. No one wants to change coaches this close to the Marathon Trials. Things must have gone downhill precipitously after so many happy years.
On one hand, the Ritz stride change "experiment" makes Salazar seem like a total crackpot, but then you have the recent success of Mo Farah and Galen Rupp this summer.
I wish her the best of luck, and hope this late move works out for she and Adam.

chill out people - 'doing the impossible' is a sports metaphor - it doesn't actually mean desi accomplished an impossible feat. Impossible feats are not ever done, by definition.
Adidas' "impossible is nothing" campaign does not literally mean you fly, or run the mile in 2:45. ok? 'impossible' in KGoucher's sense was 'really really really good.'
an inane post on a blog stating that indeed, finishing second was not 'impossible' and hard work is the secret to success in running does not need to be on any thinking person's blog.
ok?

Alberto has not been successful in the MARATHON. To talk about the success of Mo or Galen this summer means nothing to a marathoner. Kara has been his biggest success story and she has lost confidence.
For those that are upset that Ritz may no longer be in the group. You obviously don't want Ritz to run the marathon. Alberto does not know the marathon.
For those that want Rupp or Farah to move up to the marathon. Do you want them to leave Alberto? Or are you still grasping to the idea that Alberto understands an event that his best athletes say differently?

If she's leaving for someone else in hopes that that person will be a better marathon coach, than that's pretty ironic, given the fact that Salazar was the one who talked her into trying the distance.
Maybe she's also going to be coached by God? It's working for Hall.
It's official! They're joining the group being coached by Renato Canova!
I think Gouchers are more likely to join Hudson than Canova and Simmons. I don't think that group in the Springs has really taken off yet.

O'Lionaird mentioned getting some advice from Ritz, and he JUST moved there (within the past week or two) so I'm pretty sure Ritz is still with the group.
Alberto Salazar was one of the best distance runners ever.2:08 marathoner. I think he knows what he is talking about
