Whatever training mileage Verzbicas is running, his inaugural appearance with the Oregon XC team can't come soon enough: Oregon just took a major drop in the NCAA Div. I coaches poll released earlier this morning.

As I said earlier: Going from no ice baths ever, to now having them, is a big deal towards recovery & injury prevention. Anyone disagreeing- refer back to my earlier post. Plus- Oregon's demonstrated success w/ transforming greats to even higher levels. And geez, most college frosh do hit personal-high mileage in XC. Oh wait, let me guess- everyone's now going to reply the mileage was like HS or less.

Are you serious? Do you think that Vin L. or most anyone else cares about a drop in an early season NCAA coaches poll? Oregon hasn't even run their top three guys (Luke, Lukas and Mac Fleet) and they have a cadre of super freshmen and Sophomores who will grow markedly during this season (Elkain, Noelle, Shrader, Stinson). I doubt that Vin L is very concerned, in fact he indicated the opposite based on his unusually upbeat video comments after the Dellinger meet.

The fastest 3200m by a HS kid running 120 miles/week or more is 8:34. Fastest 3200m by HS kid running less than half that mileage is 8:25.
German ran a 8:34 2 mile, so more like a 8:30 3200. Give credit where its due.

Seriously though, these forums are filled with a bunch nobodies making accusations over something they know nothing about or heard from a friend of a friend's, neighbor's, dog's, roommate's, sister.
Your a retard. Lukas V posts his whole life on twitter, I get my information from there. And how fast are you buddy?
****
Calm down you ass clown, I was clearly agreeing with you and was referring to the OP in the rest of my post.
Sorry I don't waste my day reading tweets from some 18 year old...I'd like to think I've got better things to do with my life.
It still doesn't negate all the BS speculations people make about his training. If you're not his teammate, coach, friend, or family member...you really don't know what you're talking about and are just making GUESSES with little hard fact behind it.
Oh and way to through out the "how fast are you" comment as if it would have anything to do with what I posted. Jesus Christ I was standing up for the kid not belittling him. How fast I am has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. By the way, are you 15 or do you just suck at arguing with people?

Big whoop. His biking and swimming miles alone combine to well over 80 running miles.
end of thread. boom. +1 Rec Runner x

Wasn't it 8:29 for 2 miles/~8:25 3200? Someone who really follows him will verify or correct but 8:34 was the old record, I think, and he beat it by about 5 seconds running most of the race alone.
Yes, but unfortunately, since there was no official split at the 3200 meter mark during the race, they won't give Lukas the 3200m record in addition to the 2-mile record.
In all seriousness, if they're that up tight about conversion issues, they could just make his 8:29 2-mile time the new 3200m record...after all, it's still 5 seconds faster than what Fernandez managed
Are you sure regular ice baths are a good thing... It doesn't seem like too many scientists are.

You people act like 80mpw is outrageously high. It's not. I can guarantee he will have no problems with this.
When you called us forum posters nobodies, I was assuming you are a somebody. Thus, I would like to know how fast you are. You have no right to the term if you are a nobody as well. Furthermore, no one is making guesses if they are reading what the guy has posted to twitter. Jesus Christ, how thick are you?
Every pro franchise & reputed NCAA athletic dept, uses ice baths for recovery & injury prevention. Oregon Ducks, Dallas Mavs, NY Yanks, GB Packers are top of the list. Plus, I recently linked doctor endorsements. You only have links to a couple quacks. You've never stated an accomplished team endorsing your view, because you're wrong.

How do you expect to improve by doing the same thing ever year?

You run the stuff faster.
80 mpw for Lukas wont be a big deal if you combine his running, swimming, biking, and vag pounding. The kid gets it in atleast 3 or 4 times a week. And now that he is at Oregon, rumor has it that he is laying it down on Kosinski.
Couldn't have trolled it better myself.

I'm worried he might over exert himself trying to put the speed goggles on the ladies.
re:LV twitter #ThingThatGetMePissed those very few girls that see me through "speed goggles" >:(
Ever heard of me?
Will Lukas take the German Fernandez route (or ideal route) his freshman year of college? As in:
Indoor mile AJR
Indoor 3000m AJR
Olympic trials 5000m resulting in AJR
No reason to think that he can't.
If Lukas wants to make it to the olympics which he does, he will have to eventually do 100+ mile weeks on the off-season. 80 miles sounds appropriate for a div. 1 college freshman.
