found on www.northcentralconference.org : Augustana has won the conference title once in 91, the same year they got 9th in the nation. obviously sdsu has won the most with 28, the closest is mankato with 7, ndsu with 5, and south dakota with 4. everyone else has one. i really think that any recruit augustana gets at this point is a good recruit. they just need numbers. they only had like 10 guys on their men's xc team last year. they lack a lot in numbers bc they are the only private school in the conference, which makes them damn expensive. the recruits are very good for augie. last year they only got 1 freshman, and the year before that they only got 2 (2 that lasted).
I guess I dont know how many miles those kids are doing, but I was doing real high mileage in highschool and Tracy cut me back my Freshman year. We only had one freshman this year, Grahm Bahnson who had a decent showing in the 5k and 10k this year. Top 3 next year will probably be Luke Baltrusch, Paal Solbu, and Jon Francis. All 3 will have the ability to be in top 10 at Conference, in my opinion. Zach Kiesow was also showing some big improvements last Fall, so he might be a wild card depending on how healthy he can stay. Glenn Graesser really turned my heads in some workouts last Fall, and if he can put that into a race then we'll definitely have a respectable team. Grahm Bahnson was real impressive this year as a Freshman too, I think he'll really break out next year and probably be our 3-4 guy. Bleh, but it's all speculation. Who knows what kind of impact the Freshman will make next year.

augie isnt very good at xc anyway and they are 10 times worse at track. they have one good runner in luke, but there only other respectable guy was mike goodwin and i think he is graduating. they are going to have to bring in a really good recruting class to even try to turn things around.
This is a pretty stupid comment. Do a little research on past years and on current guys and you'll see that it isn't as weak as you presume.
i'd be willing to bet that you are a homo and you run over 17 min for the 5k. you probably just sit in your room and count your pubes. you dont know anything about running, but through the annonimity of the internet you think you have something insightful to share with us. in all reality you wouldnt make a h.s jv team. i think augie scored like 35 points at conference and 22 of them came from luke and mike.
First of all there isn't anyone named doug balbevy in the state, his name is Doug Galbavy. Secondly, I wouldn't be so quick to say he's hands down the best runner in the state, but he is definitely up there. Another thing is, Kaleb Boese isn't running that well right now, but he will be a much better 10k runner in college, he is a true long distance guy, he doesn't have much speed. Also, Jarvis Jelen really didn't put in as much mileage as people think he did this offseason and Lincoln High School is a really low mileage program during the season, I think they only do about 20-30 miles a week.
I can guarantee that Augies recruits are not doing high mileage right now (except the O'Gorman kid, I don't know him). I have ran with all of the other recruits and they have probably been at 30-40 mpw for the last month or so.
Yeah, I agree, all the recruits are running pretty decent times for not running very high miles and they all have a lot of potential.
you guys make it sound like augie will be pretty good next year. who do you think will be the most suprising team in the conference? i think duluth only loses one guy, makato and usd dont lose anybody, and augie loses goodwin and maybe fransis. with a lot of people back and improving it will be interesting to see how things shake out.
I don't think anyone would be surprised if Duluth did very well, they've shown that they are a good team this year. There's no reason Mankato shouldn't be up there to. I think the ? marks are with Augie, and USD probably.
augie only loses goodwin. francis redshirted last year, so he will be back this year.

Well then who are you?
Awe, snap its on now!!!
you're not going to deny that you suck at running? why are you even talking about running if you cant back it up? i guarntee everyone who posted on this thread could beat you.
Counting last year, SDSU has won 29 times. Since SDSU and NDSU are leaving and Mankato had its team cut in half, maybe one of the other teams can win this year. But I bet Duluth does.

Hm.. oh yeah, I forgot that being fast entitles people to their opinions. A coach must be able to run a fast 5k before he is able to tell others how to do so. I can't remember what Wetmore runs for the 5k, but I think it was in the 14's.. right? And how about Vin Lanana... What a joke.. I'm not the fastest guy out there, I wont claim to be, I do have inside information on the team because I was part of the team. You can either accept that, or you can drill me for my times. Then we can stand here having a dick measuring contest, but what would that accomplish?
That would measure nothing because you have no dick and no balls! Dude, you need to shut up and stop acting like you know a damn thing about running. It's one thing to know stupid stats, it's another thing to actually run and know what it takes to be a good runner. Shut your mouth and quit posting stupid comments.
do you still go to augie or do you just pretend that you do? and what is your name?
Augustana is no Adams State.
No one's trying to say they are, but every team has to start from somewhere and hopefully Augustana will be able to build a good program in the next few years.
