Word on the street is that Futsum Zeinasellassie ran a 14:36 today in Indiana. Only guy under 15 in a highly talented field.
I've only received this info secondhand though, so there is no confirmation. But still. If true, wow!

Actually it is official.

50 seconds faster than 2010's state runner-up, Jason Christ.
What street serves as a conduit for messages about HS CC?
Oh. I get it. He isn't white. That's why you're being a douche.
Main Street (everyone is talking about it here).
I heard he ran with Crist until 3k which means he put 50 seconds on him in only 2k!
And Crist was an 8:59 guy last spring who just missed Footlocker Nationals last fall (11th at FL MW). Crushing him by 50 seconds is impressive.
Damn- That's Ritzenhein stuff right there. He won his state championship race by 55 seconds over a fellow Footlocker qualifier.
great run by Futsum today.
Out west... Nathan Weitz ran 14:33 (5k) today, with Jacob Smith 14:41 in tow.

what course was that at rob?
That course was 4920m, so 80 meters short. That was in Washington, where Kendra Weitz ran 17:22 to top Maddie Meyers 17:27.

Sundodger/Lincoln Park

That may be true, but Flashrock and Sundodger courses run about the same.
Great races for all these individuals today (and yesterday - fast times at MSU Spartan on the girls side)
I have run on both courses. Flashrock (which is the Semi-state course) is a tougher course than Lincoln Park by a decent degree. Flashrock runs fast this time of year because footing is good (unlike at the end of the year usually) and the competition is excellent at this meet. But the course in Indy has some challenging hills and is by no means an "easy" course. Lincoln Park is flying fast. Long straight aways and crushed gravel trails make the footing even faster than Flashrock could ever be. Futsum's performance is a dramatic statement of fitness that is not even close to being equalled by the competitors at Sundodger today. Time will tell if others can run with Futsum at the end of the year, but if the nationals were today we would have very few running with this Hoosier. Great job to all who ran fast today and there is a long way to December...
I didn't say Weitz was better, just suggested his run today was of similar caliber to Futsum's.
For what it's worth, I have the courses being 11 seconds apart TODAY... whether or not Flashrock's course is harder in the winter is another matter I'm not bothering to discuss.
no way to know for sure. Putting a number up like 11 seems absolutely arbitrary. I like more a number such as: Futsum beat an 8:58 kid by 50 SECONDS TODAY.

With that attitude, I'm sure you don't care about rankings anyways. :) so what's the point?
By the way, he also "only" beat a 9:20 kid by 64 seconds, while Weitz beat a 9:19 kid by 99 seconds.
See, I can play that game, too!
Why on earth would they make the course 80 meters short? Certainly 17:20's seems rather pedestrian for Weitz and Myers even on a full 5K.

maybe they just wanted to be difficult. :D
