Baala will get into the final for sure. Was completely tripped 100% the fault of the guy behind him. He would have easily been in the top 5. Wheating.. something is wrong there. Willis looked great in the first heat.

Wheating has no shot at getting in. 4 faster in the first heat and at least 2 in his. All the time spots are already gone with one heat to go.
Baala appeal or not won't affect that.
the face of Wheating was sheer pain coming down the homestretch. in the slo mo you can see him almost yell. somethings not 100%, he's still hurt.
BUT, he isn't out yet, right now he's through to the semis HOWEVER heat 3 hasnt run yet!

He looked like he did at USA's, running in the second lane the whole time.
And as a big dude, he had to go to lane 3 to try to get around most of the field on the last turn. Just too much.

No Wheating in the final
He raced like a rookie.
Yea, not sure if Wheating's tactic of running 15 meters long than everybody by hanging out in lane 2 is such a great idea.

Risely and Wheating out...crazy. OK, who wants to play the sit and kick game in heat 3? Idiots, you just watched the first heat go in 3:38...seriously I don't get it.
I am guessing that Wheating's hammy injury was worse that advertised and is still bothering him or he had to spend enough time off the track to lose his sharpness. WC is no place to hope for the best (i.e. see Huddles race) when you are not in top shape.
Shame - it would have been great to see him in 3:31 shape. Hopefully next year.
Agreed. He could have qualified if he ran on the rail. But he wasn't going to go far anyway. He is clearly over his head -- at least for now.
I retract my previous post.
manzano 8th place in his heat. no advance?
Manzano didn't make it right?
Who would like to explain to Manzano that you don't have to spend the entire race in lane 2.
What's the added distance with 48" lanes?
If he doesn't qualify, it will be because he ran 1538 meters ......
Manzano ran the whole race in lane two.
Terrible
Manzano will make it on time I believe.
Manzano makes it. Barely.
Manazano and Wheating very disappointing.
O'Lionaird Made it...?
BTW I'm drinking a beer
Leo got mixed up in a lot of contact and got hammered with 300 to go. He a small dude, running in lane 2 isn't really a bad tactic for a guy who's gonna get banged around. On the flipside, Wheating was nearly lane 3 for much of his race. He's the big dude that all the scrawny guys are gonna bounce off.
I agree with the poster who said Wheating is prob still hurt. He wasn't himself at all.
wheating and manzano raced like middle schoolers.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
