A big component of the system has to do with recruiting the best talent in the country..... (not saying its a bad system. Just saying)

Have you ever considered that maybe it was UVA that blew it? UVA had a coach that could and wanted to take them to the next level, but UVA chose not to support the changes that needed to be made. Why dont you get your facts about the "golden opportunity" that UVA was... and why dont you look at what Vig did in the 3 years that he was there. I dont think I would catergorize that as blowing it. And as for that 10 foot pole... why dont you take that and stick it somewhere Fred Gywnne.

Vig has developed a lot of guys, first at Texas, and then at UVA. I don't know what happened at UVA that caused him to resign but the guy can coach middle distance runners.
A lot of these high school kids are just underdeveloped (physically and training wise) and really improve in the right system. Robbie Andrews was a stud in high school and has continued that in college.
I dont hate him. Don't really have any opinion of him personally at all since I don't know him. If you think he resigned then you are crazy. My point of my first post of this thread was Andrews was going to be great no matter who coached him or whatever training he did.It would take some serious bad coaching to blow it with this kid.
To the next level? In what resepct. 4x800m Penn Champs., Robby Andrews, an ACC Championship with Bungard, Lane, Laufer and Dunn's kids. Where is the men's XC and Track and Field team now, as Vig leaves. 6th at ACC's in XC and who knows where they will finish in track. Vig brought high profile in the Mid-Distance...that is it, nothing else. Ask his assistants...Oh wait, ou can't, they all LEFT him!!!

we can still ask them, the coaches didn't leave the country, dumba$$. They all like him and know he is a great coach. Go ahead, ask them, I have.
