Well that's my point--that it's a little tougher when you run for your school team as opposed to just for yourself and having your training and your schedule completely personalized for you (like a pro).
In the end, the ends justifies the means. 8:29 is what will be etched forever in the record books (not all these nit picky arguments of his season, his personal rabbit, his age, his nationality, etc.).
And what about school team coaches who are absolute dilettantes (at least, some of them)? What about 20x400m workout at the first ever training session not even asking what athlete did a month, a week or even a day ago? If he is not training with a HS team he is not allowed to compete!
If you need a heart surgery, who would you choose to perform it,- a nurse, who has seen how it's done, just to make a point that it's possible?!!!
Isn't it EVERYBODY has to do anything, whatever he does, as a pro?
And as you mentioned, what does nationality has to do with a HS record? Is it being 18 disqualify somebody from holding a HS record?
