Will North Central have 5 in the top 10? An impressive feat in a year that seems to be just as strong as years before.

i don't think they will even accomplish this at REGIONALS! too many strong individuals/moderately strong teams this year. they will post low scores at both meets for sure but don't be expecting a number in the 20s or 30s.

Not a chance in the world.
Yes Haverford and NCC look like very strong 1 and 2's right now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see another team sneak in for an upset...the question is which team could do so?
I can't see a team sneeking in between NCC and Haverford. If it were to happen, my bet would be on a team from the MW. Obviously NCC has already faced Wheaton in their own conference and while the Thunder are a formidable DIII #5, even they could not muster the strength to give NCC goosebumps, let alone a legitimate scare. However, with how Wheaton has just recently sky-rocketed through the rankings, it is not unlikely that they can improve even further come NCAAs. The team with the best shot then (IMHO) is DIII #3, Wash U.

How many does each region get out?
Here are my locks:
Atlantic: 5
Central: 3
Great Lakes: 3
Mideast: 5
Midwest: 5
New England: 5
South/Southeast: 2
West: 3
Now that is only 31, so it will be between the Central, Great Lakes, South and West regions for the last at-large bid. The South is the weakest, so not them. The 4th ranked team from each region in the last poll all received votes, with Loras (11-Central), Whitworth (11-West) and Hope (9-Great Lakes) only separated by 2 votes. That is just too close to call, and will depend upon there being an upset or 4 good performances in one of the regions.
Also, if the 4th team in one of those three regions won a conference title that might be enough to get them into to nationals. I'll only look at the current 3-5 rankings for time's sake, but hey, anything can happen. So for Central: Loras (IIAC). Great Lakes: Manchester (HCAC). West: Colorado College (SCAC).
Each region is very close, but I'm going to guess that Manchester and Colorado College both finish in the top three of their regions, and that Loras will finish 4th in the Central region.
Long story short, I would give (right now) the Central region the last at-large bid.
Hello Everybody,
I'm looking for some help regarding small, liberal arts college cross country (and track) programs. I'm specifically wondering about:
Pomona-Pitzer
Bates College
Colorado College
Middlebury College
Ideally, I'd like to have as much information about their training program, training environment, etc. If anyone with the most current info--2011--can help that be awesome.
Thanks for all the help!

I can give you details about NESCACs(Bates, Midd)... just would rather do it via e-mail. If you don't mind disclosing it.
I would say either Sean Kutz or Ben Stuckey for the MW individual title.
I ran for Midd, so I can give you any info you need. Just shoot me an email with whatever questions you have!

Men's West Region Results:
CC Wins tie-breaker over Oxy with 76 points, CMS 3rd with 83, Willamette 4th with 95. Brainerd 3-peats as regional champion for CC.
Looks like North Central's race to lose. I thought the same thing last year though. Perez wins the toughest region from the front, and North Central's spread was strong. Haverford's spread grew in a race where they had more competition and Dickinson did not look strong, whereas Allegheny ran surprisingly well. Calvin looked good, but the Great Lakes Region can be deceptively easy. It's tough to see anyone else challenging for the title.
North Central or Haverford, whichever team puts it together on the day will take the crown. Everyone else is vying for third.
will NE get screwed out of a 5th bid again this year?

Its looking quite possible with how shaky tufts has been down the stretch. It wouldnt shock me if they didnt go.
I'd be surprised but could still see it happen. NE has 7 teams in the top 35 second only to Mid west (if my math was right). I think next up is Atlantic who whose #1 and 2 got beaten by NE#4 (bates).
Now that the Regionals are all in the books, how does everyone see the NCAA selections playing out tomorrow?
My guess on bids by Region:
Midwest 5
New England 5
Mideast 5
Atlantic 5
Central 4
West 3
Great Lakes 3
South 2
Any other thoughts?

That's exactly what I predicted pre-regionals, and I agree with it now.

They've certainly distanced themselves from the competition. I think it could go either way.
