Honestly an olympic training center in Almeadi,Cairo,Egypt is the best and most comfortable track i ever saw and run. Most US tracks are little bit hard.

The Saucony ad (and the shirtless long-haired guy) brought this old-school track to mind:

i remember going to some events at stadium hs about 10 years ago. there were no handrails on the steps so if you fall, you die. plus, i think the track is pretty small. if i remember correctly, many of their athletes would go train at other local tracks. cool place though.

Is that the HS used in Ten Things I Hate About You?
A good way to get a new track:
While it was underwater huge air bubbles formed under the surface and they could actually support your weight!
Also, this used to be an old indoor track... Until this happened.

It was 400 meters. But still really weird for visiting teams to run on.
I don't know if Boston University still has that old indoor track with wooden supports for their banked turns. It wasn't a nice track but it made racing there feel like an underground sport. The surface itself was garbage - there were soft spots and you could feel it give way as you stepped, with the wooden boards beneath it thumping away as you ran.
They still use that facility but they have since redone the track.

I think former PSU is referring to the old track in the Amory, long gone. BU has a new facility that has a much better atmosphere and track.

This is the winner.
From my experience:
Best Facility
Outdoor: Arkansas
Indoor (oversized): Grand Valley State
Indoor: Reggie Lewis Center
Best Race Atmosphere
Outdoor: Penn
Indoor: Arkansas
Coolest Stadium
Outdoor: Santa Barbara City College
Indoor: Penn State (hydraulic track is sick)

I was wondering about that, too! It sure looks like it.

This is the sort of things sprinters do to psych out each other. I know I would.

What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?

Why's it cost every household $5000 in taxes just to run a public school?
