…. but so far age 50 has been a series of one step up and two steps back. just took two weeks off with another calf strain, this time the left one (the right one took me out part of may and all of june), but i will try running tomorrow, continuing on with what looks like has become a life-long comeback trail...
Yep, you got it! Welcome to the 50's. A downward spiral to mediocrity and beyond. You ain't seen nothing yet...
Exciting times on the 50's board. That 60's race was what it was all about. I'd wouldn't mind hearing some race details from Rick and Roger. Splits, surges, strategy, who caught who when etc...
So with that being said, I'm really missing these Championship races. Maybe next year. Looking forward to the Flint results Friday. My team has a 50's team so I'll be texting them...
Here's my week from my log. It seemed to go well but some heel soreness returned over the weekend. It didn't seem running related but it must have been. Its not bad right now. Hit my goal of 25 miles...first week over 20 since March.
Mon: am: 4 mile walk. Heel soreness about a 2 then better. Probably from my bigger weekend pm: late run. Walk 1/2 mi @14:23 then 4 miles 755,752,743,726. Heel ok
Tue: Good run. No heel pain. 743,734,727,717,655
Wed: 4.1 mile walk. No problems but felt a bit tired
Thur: Decent early run, really humid. Still felt a bit tired. 820,801,752,740, .7 @ 740 pace
Fri: Good run. Heel a 1.5… Very humid! 810,739,737,727,659 New wobble board record of 50 reps on the left leg.
Sat: Felt the heel a bit more this morning. Maybe a 3 down to a 2. Took it very easy. 837,826,801,801
Sun: Easy grass run, heel ok but still felt it. 820,757 Just ran 2 to get 25 miles for the week.
More of the same this week. Shooting for 27 miles but if it hurts, I'll be walking instead of running.
Have a good week.
