Hall 3rd - 2:04:58
Dogging or ragging on Hall from now (2:04.55) until his next race ends is out of the question. He just blew away his PR and the AR and stayed the course. Yes, he went out hard and risked it, but so did Pre and many other great. Should we dog them for having balls? I say no and I say congrats to hall for your confidence and reslience in a crazy race. BRAVO!!!
And bravo to Davila too. HUGE race!!!
I can't believe it NEW WORLD RECORD AND NEW AMERICAN RECORD!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to know whether or not it will count as a WR. That is all that I am asking here. Anybody??

Boston is not record eligible because of its elevation change. Courses, like NY, that are point-to-point, i.e., the start and finish are not close enough, are record-eligible if the wind isn't too strong. The USATF list is here: http://goo.gl/mRrrK

Post of the year!!
"various states of disarray" ahahahaha
Oh my gosh a new WORLD RECORD!
that's an incredible time for hall and the winners. geb geb beat him too, right? of course, with that wind, we don't know what this is really worth, maybe 2:08 for Hall? so, it's hard to really say that he is in better shape than when he ran 2:06, but anyway, what a recovery from a series of lousy half marathons and no coach! Now get on the track and train more like Mutai, Mosop, and Geb Geb and maybe he'll be with the top guys in London.
Boston can't have WR because it is point to point NET downhill. Hall doesn't even get the AR.
what about the "world record time" payout? not eligible?
It was holy shit, she trains with ryan hall
Wind or no wind, this race was INSANE.
WR probably won't count, but what about the American Record?
If people say it's a new WR or AR one more time I will scream.
The question is will it count as an AR?

Could someone please clarify the WR issue? Is it or is it not a WR? I am frantically searching the thread for this info, but I'm coming up empty-handed!!
As stated above, Boston is a point-to-point course, so it is ineligible for world records. To qualify for a WR, must be a looped course.
Mutai split 28:28 (14:11, 14:07) from 30k - 40k. Amazing!
I will also now officially eat my words when regarding JK calling at 2:03 effort. I live in Boston and never thought I would live to see anybody break 2:05.
I have goose bumps and am heading out for my lunch time run. What a day!!!
Absolutely, well stated! Hall, Davila and Goucher all truly kicked ass today. Well done to all!

2:04:55 for Hall.
Thanks for that, you were the first one there with the time;>)
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
