I can't believe the race is FINALLY only a week away.
Good luck to everyone running Boston! My bib is 841, goal 2:48, Anyone want to get a group going? I'm easy to spot, I'll be in the front corral, I'm 6'5" and will be wearing a day-glo Brooks singlet.
Fueling: I don't normally do anything very different the week of the race. Best for me is familiarity. The day before I tend to drink lots of coffee (a comfort for me) and then a normal sized pasta dinner. I might take leftovers back to the hotel for a snack before bed. The morning of the race I don't drink coffee, I'll have a Red Bull (idea taken from Brian Sell) and a plain bagel when I wake up. On the bus ride I plan to nibble a bagel, sip gatorade and water. Then as close to the start of the race as possible, I'll have another Red Bull and a PowerGel. During the race I'll take only water with PowerGel at 7, 14, 20, ands 23. This formula has worked very well for me for my last few marathons.
Goal Race: Boston

After weeks of 92, 93, and 84 miles, this week:

T: AM: 10 miles EZ; PM: Stretch/core routine
W: AM: 11 EZ
T: AM: 2 x 4 mile @ MP, with help from a couple teammates (including a 2:25 guy running Boston) I was able to nail it: 24:55 and 24:57 (6:14/mi total)
F: AM: 5 EZ treadmill
S: AM: 12 EZ; PM: Stretch/core routine
S: AM: 8K race, which I used as an MP run: 30:41. Great being in that big city race atmosphere again.

I feel ready run the race, so now it's just a lot of waiting. I'll put in about 45-50 miles this week before Monday, then it's showtime.
