What are you going to say if Butler beats your precious UCONN
Neither team is that good. Uconn doesn't have a big guy who could moves and run the floor like Ryan Howard Mack has been phenomenal against some top rated teams. That guy could pay. Walker can be contained, and they aren't very good down low. Uconn has been lucky to survive this far. Its a complement to a team to win close games, but their close wins have all depended on the other team missing last second three rather than them making them. Arizona and Kentucky lost by essentially one shot and those shots were very close.
It's very simple, really: UConn and Butler are the two best college basketball teams in the nation in 2011. All of the other teams aren't as good.
Nothing difficult to comprehend here.
It would be close until the opening tip. Butler would double any score that UConn women would put up. Easy.
Bulldog, I hope you don't really believe that a women's team could come close to beating them, you are the biggest freakin moron on the face of the planet, do us all a favor and go jump off a mountain and land head first, ok thanks, deuces!
This discussion is silly and probably quite offensive to women.
Obviously mens and womens teams in a sport like basketball are difficult to compare; however, consider what would happen if the best women's XC team in the nation faced off against an even mediocre DI men's XC team. One of the men would have to get injured to avoid a shutout.
Effectively, these should be considered different sports.
Hahahahaha
Women's Basketball
I just wanted to rile up all of the Butler fans out there. No way women could beat Butler.

Yeah, that's like saying oregon women could beat stanford men in xc... when oregon men have a hard enough time of it already
the dude on the first page had it right, a good high school boys team could be UConn women for sure. UConn women can't even win their own NC, what makes you think that could be males at any level?

The real national championship was UConn - Kentucky.
Princeton should have beat Kentucky. A few questionable calls and uncharacteristically poor 3-point shooting kept Kentucky in it. They got a great play from a phenomenal player to seal the deal, but any team that gets outplayed for 40 minutes by a bunch of nerdy ivy leaguers doesn't deserve to be in the national championship game any more than Butler.
Ure an idiot
well im watching this brickfest of a championship. and it always mildly annoys me when people make fun of womens bball. If they suck and are on the level of HS(which i think is true) then why watch college mens bball. Compared to the NBA college men are just like womens compared to college men. The skill and athletic ability of the NBA make college look like shit
The final score:UConn (Women): 45Butler (Men): 50Notre Dame (Women): 55Butler (Men): 49

Butler couldn't get the ball in the paint? Let along shoot the ball in the paint. I definetly think they were the worst team to ever make a championship game.
All they did was chuck up threes and couldnt rebound anything. They played ok defense until Uconn realized if they drove to the basket Butler didn't have the athletes to stop them.
I don't know about the Uconn women vs. Butler men comparison but Uconn did look like men playing a jr. high team.
Man that was painful to watch.
Butler was terrible.
18.8% shooting on the game.
9.7% from TWO point range. (3 for 31)
what's the point of this thread?
ill go out on a limb and say that the top 100 hs boys basketball teams would beat uconn women handily, top 30 would be a massacre
after that even the next 100 could probably play with them pretty well, if not beat them on a regular basis
just think about.. it's a big deal when a woman in the wnba can dunk, it's a big deal in the nba when a guy CANT dunk
There was a similar thread a couple years ago. If you go and pick 5 random guys in Baltimore, you probably have a high quality men's college team. If you pick 5 letsrunners, they have a decent shot of beating notre dame or uconn.

While Butler had a terrible national championship game, its pretty obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. Consider the teams that Butler beat in order to get to the final four and how they did it and it becomes very obvious that they are a very good team that happened to have an awful night. The exception does not prove the rule.
