I have been back running for a bit now from a tibial stress fracture. I had extensive swelling over the tibia and in the soft tissue next to the bone through the recovery period. This swelling has never gone away and when I am on my feet for long periods or after running the soft tissue swells so much that it makes it look as though I have no achilles tendon and the ankles of an 80 year old woman. However there is no pain. Will this swelling ever go away or am I stuck with it? I've heard a bone can take years to properly remodel and was just wondering if this is normal or what the deal is?
