Conto, may be you didn't read my long post with the due attention, or, because of my poor English, I was not clear enough.
In your list, there are athletes making part of the group of people that COULD HAVE advantage with EPO. I can't say they used EPO, but their morphology is exactly what I described above.
Athletes as Boulami, Lahlafi, Saidi-Sief had great muscle mass, and of sure not great elasticity in their tissues. For them, taking EPO could bring some advantage.
Different the case of Baumann, I always supposed it was a mistake. Which reason could Baumann have to take some drug, when already at the end of his career, when he had a good economic support from the German Olympic Committee as testimonial for a "clean sport" ?
And this is nandrolone, not EPO. We are discussing about blood doping, nandrolone nothing has to do with it.
About nandrolone, Italian had a big case with Andrea Longo, 800m runner able of 1'43"74, positive for nandrolone.
He was testimonial for a big American company, that gave him some support as aminoacids and mineral salts. Andrea Longo always used this type of official support.
When he became positive, the Italian Federation spent 72 millions liras (about 36,000 Euro of today) for buying the same type of Aminoacids (from Ultimate Nutrition) in 8 different European Countries (Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal and Slovenia) and sent all those samples to the Lab of Koeln, giving to Manfred Doenike (that was one of the most important scientists of antidoping) the task to proceed with the analysis. At the end of every tests, Doenike discovered that 23% of the aminoacids were polluted.
For that reason, Longo (that in any case was banned for two years) was allowed to try the standard for WCh two weeks after the official dead line, because IAAF certified his "bona fide".
I want to show you that the only black African (Kenyan or Ethiopia) in your list, positive, was Daniel Komen, and not for EPO, but for caffeine, that also in cyclism was reducted as charge, having as sanction only a warning.
In your list, there were Gebrselassie, Tergat, Mosima, Mezgefu that never had any suspicion. And later, we can add Bekele, Shaheen, Kipchoge, Songok, Sihine and a lot of athletes under 12'55", that NEVER were suspected.
Another thing : all these athletes, on the opposite of many people think, were controlled by the IAAF antidoping, or by the WADA, not less than 10 times per year, when were at home. In fact, in Eldoret, for example, there are about 20 controls per week, also because it's very easy to find athletes in whereabouts system when there is a concentration of 50% of the top runners in a small area.
So, I confirm what I wrote before : doping exists, of sure, BUT ALL THE TOP BLACK AFRICAN ATHLETES LIVING IN ALTITUDE DON'T HAVE ANY ADVANTAGE, and dont have organisation and mentality and will to use EPO for enhancing their performances.
