I'm a second year female collegiate runner and I averaged around 110-120 miles a week over the winter. My previous high was around 90, and I wanted to increase it to see how I could handle it and what I could do. I ran most of it with 1-3 other teammates except for the few weeks of winter break where I ran most of it by myself. I've seen threads on here that seem to discourage this type of mileage especially among females but I feel that if you can handle the mileage without breaking down you should go for it. I know that there are a lot of serious runners here, and I was wondering if there were any other high mileage female runners here who wanted to share their stories. I'm hoping for some big improvements in the next few weeks and I'm feeling much more confident and strong after getting over the initial tiredness.
