By 2006, when I think I'm right in saying a new EPO test was introduced, the super fast times dried up.
Which is great, except that doesn't explain why people are running such fast marathon times. Why is it that marathoners can evade EPO tests but track runners can not?
And why is it that the 5000 and 10000m records are more recent than the 1500m record? Presumably the milers stopped using it first, then the 5000/10000 runners, and the marathon and half marathon people will stop using it in a year or two.
Seems a little fishy to me.
