Benny St - what a breakthrough!
Benny St - what a breakthrough!
Jerry's 5k men looked very good!!! (his 10k men looked excellent also)
St Lawrence 13:10.8 15-second PR, so Lagat probably about 13:08, Solinksy probably 13:11.0
Ben St Lawrence - by far the most entertaining run of the meet!
correction 13:10.08, Chris 13:10.22 official, Lagat 13:08.43
Teg 13:16.27 and Bumb 13:16.?? - very impressive for Teg coming back from a rough '10 and Bumb, getting his feet wet in a biggie!!!!
PR for Bumbi @13.16?
remember when tim broe and hall/Dobson ran that and it was easy list leader for th eyear?
13:16.xx officially for Bumbalough - about a 13-14 second PB.
This is nothing new, but Lagat is seriously not going to leave the stadium until he's shaken every hand he's offered and posed for every picture he's asked for. Class act.
Excellent video and coverage of the meet!!!
I would guess that St Lawrence is no saint, and that he is using performance enhancing drugs...how do you explain improving by that much (15 seconds) when he is 29 years old? Yup, I know how...
I think biggest news of the night is that reese hoffa can solve a rubix cube in 38 seconds personally

umadbro?
ben st has been running for 5 years. A talented Jnr who gave it away for the life of partying and returned when he was inspired by Buster Mottrams run at the Melb Commonwealth Games. Maybe pull your head in before you make such comments re PEDs.
Interviewer to Lagat: "He [St. Lawrence] almost got you!"
The look on Lagat's face: "Oh, did he?"
You know Lagat had another gear, if not two or three, if he'd needed them.

Did anyone else notice that lagat has braces now???? those must be new. I bet he's paying for it with the money he won the the Continental champs last summer! ($60k in 2 days)
Collis Birmingham died hard - he was ahead of Mottram and Nelson nearly the entire race.
Disappointing result for David McNeill, as well.

I remember watching that race and thinking that it was special to have 3 U.S. runners running that fast in one race (especially a championship race). Now we have come so far since then!!! With Al, Jerry and others getting groups together, it has made us so strong - I know others will say that we have a long way to go, but we are getting there and are ready to take the next step!!!
Impressive early season 5k for the Americans, especially Teg, his first track race since USA's last June (or early July) - he is ready to have another great season and with Bumbi and others, will need it!!!!
St Lawrence has a full time job, Lets Run should name a public holiday after him and Kawauchi.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
