USATF moves to next stage of CEO search
3/7/2011
INDIANAPOLIS – USA Track & Field’s search for its next CEO will conclude with a round of final candidate interviews, the Board of Directors announced Monday.
The full USATF board met over the weekend to discuss the final stages of a CEO search that began late last year and has employed the efforts of the board’s search committee and an executive search firm.
Although the board has not specified a date for final interviews, search committee chair Steve Miller acknowledged that expediency will be balanced by ensuring the best candidates be secured for this final stage.
“We have said from the start that we will not rush the process, but we recognize and are aware of the urgency to secure a new executive, particularly as the 2012 Olympics near,” Miller said. “We will fully vet our candidates one last time before bringing in our top prospects.”
The search process to date has included the review of scores of potential candidates, preliminary interviews and full board consideration of the candidate pool.
