Don't move to Lardmont. The place stinks. It is not a "cheap" Boulder. It's a dump, plain as day. That's why they call it Lardmont or Schlongmont.

How about finding a roomie in Boulder? Share the rent and you'll save on gas.
Thanks this is very helpful ...whats the monthly rent on those cabins at 7500ft?
Longmont sucks, no one wants to live there. Same with Loveland.

What an interesting coincidence. You obviously don't have a lot of money, and you want to hang with people who like to tax the rich to subsidize everyone else.
Let me guess, you have plenty of money (probably though inheritance/luck) and are against having to give any money to the government to help people who get screwed daily by the industries and corporations you work for.
Ft Collins isn't that bad--the decription was more like Highlands Ranch. FC/Loveland trending conservative, with many arch-types as mentioned, but also plenty of room for diversity of thought.
Check out Lyons. It's only 15 or 20 min from Boulder and nestled up against the foothills. Quiet and open, a little funky. Good music festivals through the summer.
I just found those two right now, $625-650/month, and they are actually in Estes Park/up the Thompson Canyon outside of Loveland, but if you look frequently enough on craigslist you could find similar properties in any of the canyons or mountain towns. Last year when I was looking at properties, you could find mountain cabins or houses for $500-900 month, but you could always find someone to split with.

One exception: you bring with you (or start) a business that will hire at least 10 people.
Business? You mean work? I shouldn't have to work for a living. That is what entitlements are for, right?

To be fair, both towns are great if you have a family or want to retire, and both have some cool new mixed use developments, too... but if you're a 20something looking for excitement, sure, you won't want to live there.

Yeah it is pretty amazing much corporate welfare is tossed around these days- who thought it was either a good idea or the right thing to do to shower rich people with money?
I will now stop hijacking this thread.

Renting is not usually the activity of people who actually have money.
And, for those of us who could do a simple cost comparison between renting & buying the last 7 years, it is.
I can't claim to have realized we were in a housing bubble, but I did realize that owning was twice as expensive in my area.
And, I certainly have more money now than I would have if I'd bought.
But, you made an allowance for exceptions like me when you said "not usually...". I just had to point out that not all of us are "renters" because we can't afford to buy.
Is Colorado Springs good?

You obviously don't understand the opportunity cost of using money

Heh, heh. Can you spell expensive with capital letters? The multi-millionaires long ago bought out the merely wealthy from these communities.
Apparently, this person can't use ANY capital letters...
Wow, I consider myself quite the conservative, but after reading these posts have much less interest in Colorado. Seems to be a very critical, unwelcoming bunch of folks. But, I won't judge the whole state based on a few sore thumbs, and I hope, in the future, you won't judge a whole person based on a simply stated forum question.
I HATE Colorado and can't wait to move in 4 years once I have 10 years in my school district. Weather sucks, pot is legal, and it's way too liberal.
So, you want hot, potless, and konservative. AZ is the state 4U.

I'd like to know the place where I can get sodomized on a daily basis? I hear Boulder is good go for this? I want to lick a set of liberal nuts every week too.
Libs please share the "Hot" Spots.

I am very interested in Nederland. However, I cant find any housing there? Where would I look?
Nederland is full of old hippies. You could live in Eldora and run up the ski slope.
