I am an over 50 type ex runner.
And I have responded to a few posts before which picked on TRG.
And I have the same message here now. To the guys who pick on her - are you guys nuts? Do you even get out of your running myopia long enough to know that there are not a lot of TRG's out there? A woman who gets running, and who gets what guys are about, and is not inclined to be insecure 90% of the time?
I know, I know, I sound old and washed up. But in my life's experience with women (including a wife and two daughters), I have a come upon the 1 in 20 rule, meaning only about 1 in 20 are not insecure, get what guys are like, enjoy sports and physical activity, demand respect but don't need to be the constant center of attention, and accordingly are the types that deserve long term effort. No, I am not a misogynist - and frankly, the effort and the pain in the "neckness" that is required with the 19 in 20 is still worth it with a lot of women out there - my wife included - but guys ought to grab the 1 in 20 when it is presented. The dating marketplace for men, in terms of raw numbers, significantly favors men, but when you are looking for the 1 in 20, well, the marketplace is far different.
I don't know TRG, but every single post on this board indicates she is absolutely one of the 1 in 20. Criticize all you want, but trust me, is she is, as she appears, that 1 in 20, life is a lot better 10, 20 years down the road.
So TRG, good luck on getting well, and glad to see you posted. And don't prove me wrong - go out and continue to be the 1 in 20 that is out there - and join the kindly Mrs. M in doing so, who covers a generation slightly older than you.
