All of those points were irrelevant. Besides, I know several people who have qualified for the Olympic Trials. Sorry, but this accomplishment is not worthy of a thread.
You are irrelevant. You can't even figure out how to do a quote properly.
Sorry, but you are not worthy of posting on this thread moron.
Strong work, Jag. Congrats!
May I join in and offer a hearty congrats to jaguar1 !
Job well done !
Nice job! Very funny response with the beer, too. Maybe he needs more than one.
congrats Jaguar1!!!! keep it up!
I also offer hearty congrats to jaguar1. She has been a positive contributor to this site over the past few years, so I am happy to see her have some good results. Keep it going.
awesome run recovering from surgery! it has been a pleasure to see from the message boards over the years how you set out a recovery program from stress fractures, I think, ran high miles and continued to improve to this level over years!
I've got the original thread back up. Sorry for the mixup on the homepage.
Congrats on the win and the comeback from injury.
To jaguar1---WOW! Awesome job, especially after what you've been through. You are one tough cookie!
and barefoot running almost ruined her career
"Herron first injured her calf when she stepped on something while running barefoot in training. In February, she felt her calf muscle tear while running in a 10K in Edinburg, Texas, but kept going. She went five miles before finally stopping when the pain also hit her hip and abdomen....
It wasn't until June that Herron was diagnosed with five hernias and a torn labrum. She had surgery in July and a difficult recovery followed. "
end stirring pot....
Congratulations again! Thanks for all the running and injury advice over the years.
Way to go.
jaguar- some polite questions were proffered and you only responded to the obvious troll. WTF?
I just want to add my congratulations.
Great job Jaguar.
And she offered him homebrewed beer! I am starting to think if a person wants to get a question answered by the likes of Jaguar1, Canova, etc. (i.e. the 'good' posters), they need to be incredibly rude, maybe accuse them of doing drugs or insult them somehow. Seems to get their attention better than asking nicely.
Your story is an inspiration to me! Congratulations on your marathon win and best of luck in future races...
Great run
great race but be careful labrum tears predispose the hip to osteoarthritis.

Sorry, I was going to reply but the day was hectic, no computer, phone died, and the thread got pulled. For all the kind replies I've given over the years, I hope you can forgive me. My parents/family is ecstatic, and it was a perfectly planned surprise with my Dad being in Dallas. They're good humoured about it. As I said, I have a congenital condition that led to the hernias, including one pinching a major nerve down my right leg. My gait hasn't been right going back to high school (when the injuries started). The flats/barefoot running probably changed my gait just enough to be able to train consistently for a few years, ~marathon shuffle. Post-surgery, my gait is radically transformed (in a good way, can lift the right leg, yahooo!). It feels like I'm having to relearn how to run/sprint/pace myself. My arm carriage is different too. I'm recovering faster from workouts. I'm about a month back into regular training and decided 2 weeks ago to run Dallas with no expectations, except to win (and surprise my parents!). Hoping to get in some good training this winter and get back to peak form. Mind and body willing and able, I'll do the best I can. Thanks again for the support!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
