Just remember, he runs for a living.

If I started jumping of a really high cliff, then yes.
I can't speak for everyone, but I feel that most runners enjoy training, competing, and improving. However, most can achieve their goals to some degree on 100 miles per week or less.
Dean Karnazes strikes me as having an almost pathological preoccupation with running. He runs, what, something like 200 miles per week? I don't know too many runners who would relish taking on that degree of obsessive-compulsive disorder so that they can run more.
Plus, despite his considerable ability to endure, he has no speed! The average letsrun poster can probably smoke him in a 100m sprint. Most of us cherish our speed, whether we have a lot or a little, and a downgrade in that department is untenable.
Apologies to Dean K, but I imagine his sprinting speed to be roughly that of Jared of Subway fame. I've seen him race and it is roughly analogous to watching the sun's shadow creep across the ground.
no
In order to decide I would need pics of wife, please
Karnazes won the Badwater 135, which is something I wouldn't mind having on my resume.
Most everyone that meets the guy likes the guy. Try shaking his hand before you condemn him.
probably because he doesnt give a shit about his sprint speed. its kind of unnecessary for what he does. he, just like us, runs because he likes it. but he was able to make a living out of it. most people here are jealous of him. they think because they can whip him in a mile that they are more important than him. it sounds like he has a good life. but i like my life too.
Yes. I would love the be the best long-distance runner in the US.
I'm fine keeping my "talent" (it might even be inferior to his), however his durability is something I'd love to have. I get injured about every 6 months and so can never be consistent. So yea, I'd like to be able to run 200 mile weeks, even if I never really got beyond 70 or 80.
Geez, that's a retarded opinion

Yes, I'd switch lives with him in a second.
I would switch bank account with him, but not life.
