You are all clowns. Mike Krueger coaches her - not Terry Jessup. She might do occasional training runs with Jessup, but you don't know what you're talking about in the slightest, so shut the hell up.
I have had personal contact with Mike in relation to her training so again, shut the hell up. And Jessup coaches all kinds of kids that are/were not in the DFW area at the time he coached them (ex., Tricia Terry from the valley in Texas and Ashley Isham in her senior year out of Austin).
So, get your facts straight.
College runners that had success after being coached by Jessup in high school --
Erin Bedell (Baylor), all american several times
Kristie Krueger - JUST WON SEC XC
Hayley Parons (Texas A&M) - now the 3rd girl on the TAMU team and has PRd tremendously since HS
And, just to finally shut you up - check the list of members on their site; Svennison is NOT listed.
SHUT UP.

I am asking you to remove this thread immediately. To allow a highschool KID to be talked about negatively on this site is shameful.
You spend a lot of time removing threads that don't meet your personal interests such as politics or your favorite pro runners and your college team, but you allow a child to be disrespected on your message board.

Being very good at something, unfortunately, opens the door to persecution. My child was a subject on these boards a few times. I was angered at times because of so much gross information but soon realized it was just a lot of speculating from curious, uninformed, anonymous posters.
You have to have a tough hide to read these boards at times but it shouldnt ruin your life if you know who you are. Most of the posting is people arguing over Chelsey's training. There will always be ignorant people attacking other items outside of running but that is just unfortunate on their part. This is a running forum and all aspects of running will come up from time to time...including individuals. Some of the opinions and comments are irritating but as long as they are not degrading personal I just grin and bear it. Chelsey is truly a talented young lady and if she chooses to continue running I'm sure the cream will rise to the top.
Ali Billmayer has also made a verbal to Stanford and latest reliable also has Cuffe committing to the Cardinal on Wednesday evening.
CS has had serious injury issues the last 3 years and would not be surprised if those challenges follow her to Palo Alto. She has not been able to complete a scholastic season the last 3 years.
Are you serious??? Say hello to your new national champions???
It is a great class but then again, it's women. Who know's where they all will be in 2-3 years.
Wow, Cuffe committed to Stanford? I was really thinking that she would choose Villanova.
Chelsey is my favortie HS runner in years. Beautiful to watch run, funny in interviews, obviously a lot going for her. Hope things go well for her at "Super Stanford".
Speaking of Stanford, no one on these boards has mentioned the amzing rebound of Kathy Kroeger. Huge props to KK, Dunn and co. on that one. I honestly thought she might go the way of Mortensen, Trotter, Chock et al..
Wow. Cuffe and Sveinsson both headed to the same school (Cuffe committing is officially on the milesplit site). That's going to be awesome and this team could be the one to watch in future years.
I'm glad Cuffe chose Stanford because the future there looks brighter than at Villanova.
And I agree with the poster who said Chelsey is his favorite...it's so fun to watch that stride rip up the competition and she has so much energy and fun in interviews.
I've read that Molly McNamara of NJ's Red Bank Catholic is visiting this weekend. She just won the Ocean County Championship in 17:14, beating Jillian Smith's (Southern Regional/Michigan) CR by 5 seconds... other notables on that course Ashley Higginson (Colts Neck/Princeton) 17:32; Danielle Tauro (Southern Regional/Michigan) 17:34. So, she is pretty legit, would be another impressive add for Stanford from NJ... in addition to the Rosa's.
McNamara also committed to Stanford. That will be some team!
Looks like Chelsey is back running, but not anywhere near top shape.

Look at (by far?) the best freshman this year, Hoer from NC State. Who was speculating about where she would go last year. I do not know where she will finish but the only race she has not won was at PreNats, where she was a mere 5 seconds out off the pace.
In general, I think that the kids with the best chance to excel are those that have had solid but moderate high school training and are motivated (not necessarily driven) and focused (but not single minded).
My vote of someone to watch the might end up great or so-so is Molly Seidel from a tiny school (50-100 in high school, maybe even smaller) in Wisconsin. She broke the State meet record on an altered (long) course running all by herself (30 second lead at the mile) - 13:42, faster by 42 then the Division 1 girls. She apparently has only been running a few years, and does about 30-35 miles per week, skis, and a bunch of other stuff.
There's some truth to what you're saying, in that no Foot Locker champion has yet to win the NCAA Championships (though that will probably change this year with Hasay and Krueger in the mix), and a lot of high school stars don't pan out in college.
But on the flip side, I think it's becoming increasingly hard for a girl who's running moderately (eg. 30-35 miles per week)and who is being trained by the average high school coach (such as a well-meaning social studies teacher whose main qualification is that s/he ran in high school) to succeed and be recruited to a top program. There are now too many equally-talented girls who are seeking private coaching, who might not be wasting time running low level meets with their high school team, and/or who are running mileage more in the 60-75 mile per week range. In our state this year, there are freshmen girls breaking 18 min. for the 5K. That used to be unheard of, and in fact precious few girls of any age ran under 18 on those courses.
So unless the moderately-trained kid is of future Olympic caliber and just that incredibly talented, she's simply not going to be able to stay competitive now. My daughter ran with a low-mileage program in high school. She and the other girls on the team would see improvement each year, but on the order of 20 seconds or so. Meanwhile, they started getting smoked by girls who were dropping an entire minute to a minute and a half off their times from sophomore to junior year. How did that happen exactly? And then when a girl from my daughter's team gets to college, the difference in training at a top Div. 1 program is going to be a HUGE step up. But, there will be other girls on her team who were used to 60-65 miles per week at fast speeds in high school and who can therefore make an easy and early transition to varsity while their moderately-trained counterparts sit on the bench. Since we're speaking of Stanford, Tonn says in an interview that she had absolutely no difficulty transitioning to college because she was already training at the same mileage and intensity in high school. If so, then she was not doing 30 miles a week, was she?
