Are awards given for "all conference" like they are for "all american" honors? If so how are they decided? Top 7 finishers at the conference meet get 1st team and next 7 get 2nd team?

I don't think that's how all-american works...
All-conference obviously depends on your area. In mine, there were 10 spots. Anybody who finished both top 10 in the conference final meet and top 10 in "points" for the season (every wednesday conference race, you got 25 points for running the fastest time in the conference, 24 for 2nd, etc, 1 for 25th... the teams might not necessarily all be in once race, but they'll all be on the same course on the same day so fair enough). Usually 5-7 people qualified this way. The remaining spots would be voted on by the coaches, where anyone who was top 10 in points OR top 10 in the conference final was eligible. I would imagine other conferences would be just straight-up top 10 in the finals. You'll have to ask your coach if he knows, if you actually think you're close to achieving it.
