yeah I have to admit Goethals is scary skinny. Hopefully that's mainly genetics... :-/
I just found it odd that so many Huskies were not "feeling well"... either that means they had a tough training week or their coach has them overtraining...

Well...wait a minute. You mean the Nova men aren't any good? Isn't Jumbo Elliott still the coach there?
jumbo elliott died in 1981
Did he die of excessive intervals?

Villanova website prior to the meet said they were holding out their top 3 returners - Mildenhall (XC All-American), Beamish (top 70) who had minor injuries, and Gibney who was healthy but coming back from an injury in the spring.
The teams ahead of them will be pissed if they dont get the point for beating them here.
Are you sure? On the release on the website it said they only held out two guys. Meaning the points will count. Not trying to argue, just trying to clarify.
Yes, I am so happy to see that Luke has apparently overcome the physical problems that he suffered through last year. He could make the Oregon team a threat at XC Nationals.
Nooooo, I love Jeremy Rae More!!!!
No, I do! He's my baby! That smile... Oh man. Stunner.
Welcome to the post-Kelly Strong era.

That's pathetic.
How did Ciaran O'Lionaird and David Forrester do?
FSU have the potential to do very well this year.
Forrester very good and getting better. Ciaran a little back but still good.
FSU did not run Zivec either - 5th at footlocker and 3:44. Add him in and look out.
Villanova, held out Mildinghall who would have been top 3-6 here
And
Beamish who would have been top 12-14
and Gibney who is better at 8K than Kane, probably.
Gibney is coming off injury and would have not made this one regardless
With Mildinghall and Beamish in Nova winds up 4th with about 160, if they had Gibney they may have been third.
Add in 14:02 5Ker in Ross Millington and New Mexico is very scary.
FSU definately ran Zivec
Matt Leeder = high school peak
Jeremy Rae beats Olivier Collin and Matt Leeder
he was with the other 2 oregon frosh at 3.5 and then he was about 15 meters behind them both with a mile to go. He is not on the finish so he must have dropped out. too early to say because their just freshman and they will see great improvements in the weeks to come but i dont think adding him to the equation requires any team to look out after him dropping out the race.
I don't know. I think Leeds can do something special this year.
I thought that Metcalf took all the credit for the girls who were running at Washington a few years ago. If that were so, why is the post-Kelly Strong era of any meaning?
Many or most of the girls were pretty sick throughout last week. Some virus went through the team so I would expect pretty significant improvement over the next month.
The womans race was won in one of the fastest ever times on that course all the girls in the top ten ran bloody quick so I would not expect as much improvement as you think there will be. Think that was a pretty fair indication of the who's who of this season.
Villanova had a great strong team win. I was most impressed by Stony Brook, unranked going into the meet it will be interesting to see what ranking they are when they come out
matt leeder to run like a badass later in the season, guaranteed
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
