I'd ditch the 8 x 1k with 60s float and run 5 x 1k HARD with 4:00 standing rest, trying to keep them all close to the same pace, maybe starting at 3:05 and seeing if you edge to 3:00 flat (or maybe a hair quicker) on the last one.
Thanks for the suggestion. Its funny you mentioned that workout, because I originally had 6 X 1k @ 5kish pace planned. I had my rest at 2:00, so your workout is faster but with longer rest.
I like your idea because I can get the legs moving fast and get my HR up to its max. I may just make that change....thanks dude
