when was the last time bolt lost?
Bolt is human, shocking. Perhaps he'll think twice before he beats his chest like a territorial gorilla the next time he wins a race. Maybe the people profiling Usain in 'chasing bolt' will rethink their choice of title. Probably not...
One thing I am certain of - there's some bean counters out in Oregon who realized today that their sums were off
Just prior to the Olympics, Powell got him over 100m.
Last time Bolt lost was in 2008, it was also at the Stockholm meeting.
It doesn't look like bolt put very much effort into that race . . . gay on the other hand was pumping as hard as ever . . . but he won and that's what counts, but it will take a lot more to convince me that gay is better than bolt . . . say a new world record
2010 was always going to be a fallow year for Bolt - no championships of any note.
I saw Michael Johnson’s documentary on him in the winter, when he visited him in Jamaica and Johnson was amazed at Bolt’s casual approach and lack of interest in getting down to even relatively hard workouts.
He was too busy having a good time and being feted all round the world.
The best thing that could have happened to him was being beaten by Gay - next year and Olympic year, it’ll be a different story.

This. He's probably on an off-cycle and he's so full of himself figured he could win anyway.

Agreed.
If you watch the video, it's clear that Bolt was trying hard; but he's clearly out of shape from all his traveling, DJing, etc. If I remember correctly, he was running 9.9s in the heats of the Olympics and Worlds making it look like an absolute stroll. I'm glad he got reminded that even he can't beat the likes of Gay if he doesn't train properly. It will only mean better times for him in the future.

It will be interesting to see how Usain responds to this. I want to see a race where Powell, Bolt & Gay are all 100%
I wonder if you compiled all their fastest 10m splits what the record would be?
Watch the 2009 World Champs, bro?
Bolt wasn't 100% even Gay said it. Gay did what he had to do but Gay was better on the day.
DN galan has a long long history of random sprint-results due to its starting procedures with a extremely long hold between "get set" and the gun. This has ruined its sprint races for decades with lots of unexpected losses for favorites. Bolt actually had his two last losses at DN galan. Not without a cause.
Agreed Paleo Paleo. This is how fast he is with no "supplementation". Still pretty fast though.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
