didn't all of those people run 4 years at AZ state and graduate?
Is that what you mean by "seem to get it after a while and leave"?
Just curious b/c if that is what you mean it might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard on these boards.

McGuire is seriously considering the job. If he turns it down, then Sully will be the next to get the offer. Diemer isn't interested.
What about John S. Matt Smith or Paul A.??? Anyone.
Bethke can only time trial and Aguayo looked awful at USA's. Alcorn has come along well though. I still rank them as,
#1 Eyestone
#2 Gary
#3 Quintana
#4 Rowlands
Sully going to come coach the guys and then Karen go back to volunteering for Mike? The programs are very seperate and the men are really struggling with laplante. They're not going to be able to combine with Henry and Laplante (specialty is exact same event). Mike can coach no doubt, but would he be only crossover coach on staff? Is it like that anywhere?
Goodridge and Laplante are close, would John consider head cross country coach at Michigan over head track coach at Eastern?
U of M is set up so that Fred Laplante will be the cross country coach and maybe hire a sprints coach to help him out now in the track season.
Are any of the distance guys leaving? They haven't done that much, but there are some young guys who certainly ran great in high school.
Nick Stanko?
Rondall Ruff
Todd Schneider
Ryan Gall?
Schramansky?
Candidates:
1) John Goodridge
2) Kevin Sullivan
3) Mcgwire
4) Brian Diemer
5) Jerry Baltes
John Goodridge is leaving for Wake Forest. Nice try.
Goodridge is now the Head Coach at EMUhttp://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/2010-07-07-4234713988_x.htm

Bobby Lockhart is a young coach who would be perfect for their job. A tireless recruiter who brought most of those Oklahoma runners to OU before leaving for OSU and helping Dave Smith win a national championship. Somebody who they should seriously consider!! Jerry Schummacher is the best coach in the country right now and he needed a start somewhere, he got it at North Carolina. Bobby just needs that opportunity!!!
Actually NO they didn't all run for 4 years at ASU and if they did they only ran for Quintana for 1 or 2 years.A large number were prodigees of Drenth! Most of his "talent" has been transfers. Look at the progression of his program and you will see NOTHING!

Lockhart is a punk/drunk-if he gets it its just another good day for the good old boys.

Bobby has never coached. No way are they going to give a high profile job like this to someone who hasn't coached. Needs opportunity? He's part of the National Championship team.
Something seems terribly wrong here. Anyone close to Ron knows that the timing of this and the cryptic nature of his quotes seem to suggest that someone forced him out??????? Ron just loved it and it seems like maybe the new AD or someone else might have quietly forced him out.
Anyone know the 'actual' story here of why Ron is leaving?
Tried to point to some of the issues/people surrounding his 'retirement' but it was soon taken off because others didn't want any finger pointing. I will remain quiet and hope that those people get theirs in the end and yes they are still coaching at Michigan and else where. You can all keep guessing now???
Lockhart wouldn't even meet the height requirement.
