P.S. I'm training specifically for the 800m not the 400m.

Luis, what do you guys run in the winter?
I won with a bit to spare in 1:55.53 this year (which is my PB) but the planets didn't seem to align at the right time to go faster. Next year!
Carnegie- then he should do well at the 800 and 1500 at worlds next year in Sacramento. He'll be 45 right?
At least he won't have to run against Sorensen, who would beat him in both races. (Sorensen will be 44)
He might be able to sneak up into the top 3. Good luck.

I don't understand the sneak up in the top three.
1:57.5 Might be possible. There has only been one ranking performance in the last couple of seasons. Guess he does not need to race a lot and be visible on the radar. Just sneak in sort of suprise people.

Not that I'll be among them, but who are the contenders from the Americas at 1500? I'm guessing there will be less Europeans next summer due to the travel costs.
Always thought I'd be able to run my age when I hit late 50's. Now that I'm here I see how daunting that task actually is. things changed dramatically about 7 years ago when arthritis and numerous other injuries began to take their toll. Diminished range of motion is one of the bigger issues. Not just lack of flexibility, scar tissue and pain prevent full flexion of the knees.
I think 'MANY' runners can run with Carnegie next summer.

We have many faster 800 - 1500 meter runners in the east.
Travel costs? They have a great deal! Exchange rate is in their favor and flights are a bit on the steep side, but not outrageous.
I really don't know how many will be traveling over, but if they don't, then it is their loss.
Certainly there will be some fast Europeans in the men’s' middle distances in the 800-1500, sub 2 and someone may be close to 4 minutes and change.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year

Guys between age of 45 and 55 do you think about death or does it seem far away
