Mike 51 years old! I ran a 56.1 on the 4 x 400 at Natonals!
57.2 is the PB at age 42; now a 58 is just an easy workout. Am I missing something?

I was a 100 meter runner, with no training that year.
Some 45 year old runner ran 50.2 this summer

Birdo how fast can you run your 150's on the track?
I would set myself up to get a tailwind; 10 meter flying starts; March times started at 22; by the end of May - low 19's to 19 flat.
My winter training was rehabbing from knee surgery for October and November. Started jogging December 1st. Worked up to 3 mile tempos at 6 per mile. 2 or 3 times per week. Plyos, weights. core and lots of pool work. and elliptical. Low carb/high protein diet. Lot of stretching, and a very forgiving wife!
So how fast do you think you will run in 2011?
Sprinters?

My 56.6 was in June 2009.
I thought for sure I could dip into the 54's. But as my season last year progressed I developed the dreaded low back/groin pain. Continued training and popping double doses of Alive daily. Gradually worsened until I hung it up in August. Every time I've tried speedwork since - I get the pain. Been to the Chiro for SI joint dispacement.
At this point I'm shooting for Indoor.
Birdo, is a fast time in the 400/800? Can you run with the top masters at nationals?

Making it to Nationals uninjured is the main task = being it's at the end of the season. Getting strong enough to run rounds is the next step.
Frankly, I would be happy with 56.5 in 2011. I thought I'd be into the 54's in 2010, but I ended up as a spectator instead.
Coach Owl, how was your 400/800 at Nationals?
You guys are seriously fast indeed...
At 49 i can only manage 1:30's !!!
Help !!!

Hey how old are you?
I ran 59.1 right before turning 40.
With a 49.50 lifetime PR that speed loss really affects what I can do in a 5K and how to approach any training.
I want to be at 55 flat but don't know if that's going to happen.

Are you joking?
Wow. Some fast older guys here. I'm 30 years old so I'm not doing Masters competition yet, but I thought I might like to try being a 400m type guy when I get old enough to compete in Masters track. I ran the 400 in college in sub-50, so I figured I would be competitive in Masters competition, but now I'm not so sure. Even at 30 years old, I think a 55 would be a tall order. The idea of running well under 60 secs in ten to twenty years from now is crazy to me.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Guys between age of 45 and 55 do you think about death or does it seem far away
