supposedly Wheating wins in 3:37 high with a winning kick, which means Andrews would have won had he been there because he has a far superior kick.
Andrews is faster than Wheating over the last 100m of an 800m, but Wheating still has the best kick out of any 1500m runner in the country. Andrews just isn't there yet for the 1500/mile, and I don't think there's any evidence saying that he is.
To say Andrews would be anywhere close to Wheating coming into the last 100 is ridiculous and there's not even any evidence to say he would outkick Wheating at the end of a 1500.

I doubt this guy is really an Andrews Fan, i think he's an Anyone But Wheating fan. If he was an Andrews fan he would realize he's setting the kid up for failure. If the race at NCAA's goes like it has the last couple of years Andrews has a lot of ground to make up in relation to where he is right now. Wheating has been within .01 of the win or the winner in the past two years in 1:46 races and last year he won with a calf problem and a stomach virus in 1:46.
Wheating opened up his season at Penn and got beat in his 2nd race, while a great feat for Andrews I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
Hopefully Andrews has 1:45 or 1:46 that it will likely take to contend at NCAA's in Eugene, but you don't really need to set him up for failure.

Leo Manzano might disagree with that assesment

Bernard Lagat might disagree with that assesment
hell, lopez lomong and (possibly) alan webb probably disagree with that assesment.
point is, wheating runs like that at USA's and he gets clowned.

When the big meets hit in June, Andrews will be kicked down by Wheating and others in the 800. Period. He's not a 1:45 runner yet, and it's silly to think indoor races or Wheating's first weekend of outdoor competition after a slow start show that Andrews is a top notch National level competitor yet. I hope Andrews goes to the top of the world, but his balloon is going to burst at the National level. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
Manzano has a great finish. Not a fan of Lagat ever since politics ruled and that whole ridiculous false positive story was concocted to save him when he was caught using EPO. Without it, Lagat would be a decent runner, but not a world beater. He's just a good responder to the drug. His wheels don't match up to his 1500 pr.

Centro will run Stanford where the 1500m record WILL fall. Just look at the stacked 1500 field at Stanford. Why Oregon wanted to run a meet the same weekend as Stanford and try to break records is beyond me. Its a ploy and was a waste. The 1500 and 10k fields are both MUCH stronger in Palo Alto, Obviously
so much for that verbal diarrhea...
