Wheating is super talented, but not the best racer. Jacob Hernandez had his number. Last year at Pac-10 and Outdoor NCAAs he eeked out wins against way less talented runners. He has great credentials, but has way more losses at big races, then wins. Wheating needs to learn how to win as well as run fast times.
I just love it because it makes things exciting. When the same guy wins every time, it gets boring.
Wheating is still the favorite going in to ncaas, he is the defending outdoor champ and has a much faster PR. Once he graduates, Robby will then be the guy to beat it seems.
Anyone else think it might be interesting for Andy to run the 1500 at NCAAs? He is undefeated at the Mile/1500 distance this year and I think he hasnt come close to his potential in that event. Imagine Lee, Dorian, Wheating, and Centro all in that final. Would be crazy.
