well, how did you do?
this is easy. run the race and have fun. if u take prize money you are a scumbag. have the water/gatorade/food they supply its no big deal. anyone who has a problem doesn't want the sport to get bigger they just want to be part of a club. if you win any sort of amoney and take it you are a scumbag! If you are another runner and have a problem with someone running the race for fun and not paying YOU are a scumbag!

Banditing a race is nothing like stealing coffee. You aren't taking anything of value from the race directors, just depriving them of more revenue. It's like downloading songs illegally; yeah it's wrong but nothing like going into a store and stealing a CD.

as far as i'm concerned, the entry fee pays for an official time and a t-shirt. who cares if they closed roads? If you don't care if your time is official, don't pay.

um, you realize by paying the entry fee you're paying for the expenses needed to set up the course, block of the streets, get medical/police personell, pay for the *free* stuff doled out to runners post-race, and putting $$ towards whatever charity/cause is being promoted??
