I doubt Rupp will even show up
f***in right
I hope Rupp does show. It's a deep enough field that someone is bound to push the pace at least a bit. The new AR will be around 13:09-12 after the race, and I think it will be Legat's.
Both Legat at Milrose and Rupp at UW simply ran to win, not go after times. Chelanga is likely to go into the race with a small chip on his shoulder. Add in some Kenyans/Ethiopians who don't want to lose to Americans and it should be a great race.

by any chance are you the tom ansberry who ran a 2:41 marathon at age 13?
anyway my picks
1. lagat 13:04
2. rupp 13:07
3. daba 13:08
4. chelanga 13:12
There is this guy known as Markos Geneti from Ethiopia. He is so good in the indoors in that even Bekele nor Gabreselasie has ever beaten him especially in the 3000M indoors. He is the guy to watch out!
My picks are:
1. Markos geneti 13.06
2. Benard Lagat 13.08
3. Bekene Daba 13.09
4. Sam Chelanaga1 13.10
5. Galen Rupp 13.10
6. Haron Lagat 13.12

LOL. Lagat will beat Rupp (along with everybody else) more than just a second. They funny thing is Rupp might have a poor race and the fanboys would once again come up with another excuse. Lets see, he got outkicked by Solinsky in the mile and almost got beaten by some D2 runners and you think the world silver medalist in the 5000m will only win by a second? Anyways, bash away.
I hate posts like this. First, people want Rupp to do well because he is the next hope for American distance running and naturally his fans will try and make up excuses for a poor showing. Second, no one was bashing on Lagat. Someone just made a prediction that Rupp would beat him (which I hope he does because I'm more of a Rupp fan than a Lagat fan. Which does not make me a racist by the way.) Lastly, Rupp should've been beaten by Solinsky considering he has run faster and has been a pro longer.
Eat me, LawXC
Except Rupp won't beat Lagat. If he couldn't beat Solinsky in the mile and almost lost to my man scotty bauhs and braun in the 3k, he'll have no chance against Lagat. That was my point.

Is Haron Lagat running the race or rabbiting it? I hope he is running it, he is an unreal talent. 3:58 indoor at 3100 ft elevation after his coach cut him from Tech's team. Not to mention his awesome race at 5th ave mile last year.
Chelanga is snowed in. He won't be in Boston for the race. Bummer.
I hope the pace is fast because Lagat won't chase after records if it's slow. He just doesn't seem interested in records. Chelanga is the only one I trust to make the pace fast.
Not true, cause his hotel room is next to mine.
Oops. I think you might be thinking of another short African dude, because McDougal says otherwise on Facebook-
Josh McDougal is stuck in VA..
(Facebook friend)I heard that Sam won't make it to Boston due to weather! Get on the phone Lagat and Rupp and the Boys, and tell them to run at the Tyson invite next week instead!
(Josh McDougal) Yeah.. we are snowed in.. chillin in culpeper this weekend i guess... works out well though.. sam was a little banged up.. he can just run at tyson next weekend
You are putting too much pressure on Rupp. Give him time. In my opinion he will run 13:24. This time is based on his 3k time in Seattle Washington on 30/01/2010.
Lagat 13:11
Daba 13:13
Chelanga 13:17
Rupp 13:24
He would fly up the night before? Really? I'm not doubting, just seems strange.
