Every Lets Run web page has the holier than thou attitude
condeming any who are accused (rightly or wrongly) of drug usage. BUT NOW that Wejo is in the same company (those related to the accused), he sounds like all the other atheletes trying to convince everyone of his innocense. I wonder if he now understands the damage he does to others with all this "cheaters cheaters cheaters accusations"
Looks like he may get a dose of his own medicine. Explain away Wejo, of course we believe you.......
I agree 100%. Actually his looooong article is hilarious because he "doth protest too much." He and rojo made their bed, now he they have to sleep in it. What is that "bed" that I speak of? It is made up of the following "sheets":
1) insinuating that sooo many individual athletes are on PED's even when no definitive tests have proven that those individuals took drugs.
2) specifically, they have taken athlete-"shady Doctor" links (just like wejo's OWN current link to a shady doctor) and "connected the dots" to make veiled or not-so-veiled accusations of drug use (this has certainly happened with african athletes and their connections to some italian doctors)
3) they have acted like positive PED tests could NEVER be wrong (even though these tests are imperfect)
4) have called any athlete with a single positive result a "drug cheat" and "liar" and even "thief" for stealing prize $. Now, I don't disagree much with this latter line of thinking when there is little doubt surrounding the drug test results. However, it seems that that brojos never want to give any benefit of the doubt and want to brand people for life even IF....and I say IF.... that person made a single mistake. Yet, they don't apply the same standard to everyone. One of their heroes and top posters on this site, Malmo, admitted to taking steroids while an athlete. YES... he said he did so only briefly, and not during competitions. I can see forgiving that small sin, but if it wasn't one of their pals who admitted that, and if it had been instead some foreign runner, I don't think they would buy it. No, they would call that athlete a "DRUG CHEAT", and brand them for life.
This is the "no tolerance" and "connect-all-the-dots"- to-make-drug accusations environment that they have championed and helped to create. In this environment, where there are no "gray areas", Weldon and Malmo should be considered "DRUG CHEATS" because of shady-doctor connections and admitting past drug use (that is not my feeling, but that is how the brojos would brand some other runners who weren't them or their friends who had the same connections to shady doctors or who admitted past brief drug use).
This experience will hopefully help them change their tune a bit. No, not to excuse drug use, but to give benefits of the doubt and look for beyond-a-reasonable-doubt information before branding someone a drug cheat, and even maybe forgive a brief mistake.
