I am just saying that stating that "Serena Williams threatens to Kill Line judge" is inaccurate.
What you are stating is not accurate.
I've passed the bar exam, and I can assure you that saying "I feel like shoving this ball down your f*cking throat" doesn't qualify as threatening to kill someone. You don't get it, and that's okay, but you are wrong.

She was threatening, NO DOUBT.
She's what, 6', 180 pounds? The judge was half her size and weight.
Serena is a thug.
Someone forgot to tell Ms. Williams that as a 6' tall black woman, yelling at a smaller woman constitutes a threat on said woman"s life.
Did you also try to sue the black kid who scared your son into fumbling the ball during Pop Warner tryouts?
Sir Lance-alot, Boy I must have struck a nerve with you by calling you a racist. Lets see you called me an idiot a number of times, called me a racist, ridiculed me with your "zoom right over your head huh" (OK that one was funny) called me "officially insane" and shouted at me frequently during your post. One almost got the idea that your purpose was trying to humiliate me on this message but I'm sure your too nice of guy for that. OK I read your retort and I will grant you that many of your comments were in retaliation to other comments. However here is why I think you might be racist. The subtle kind not the extreme blatant type. I want you to explain why you let Serena off the hook. The worse you said about Serena and her behavior was that "of course she acted like an idiot and deserved to lose the point". First she had to lose the point it was a rule on her second violation. To dismiss Serena behavior so cavalierly doesn't make sense to me. Serena is absolutely no idiot. Did you hear her in her interview. She is very quick witted and very clever. She reframed the issue by saying it reflects her passion for the game. She was clever enough not to take the bait by the media that tried to get her to repeat what she said. She evidenced lack of morals through her failure to apologise to the woman that she threatened. She saw no wrong doing felt no remorse. I could see why RUkiddingme said she was a bigger threat then McEnroe. McEnroe swore but he never threatened. Why would you call RUkiddingme a racist and condemn him for that statement. Also do you think she would have risked losing a point and said those things if she thought she would win the match? No she is not an idiot. Now tell me why you haven't commented on that lack of remorse in her interview and why you deny her threat? "She acted like an idiot" makes it sound like she didn't know any better. Tell me why you didn't think it reflected lack of morals? I really don't get your attitude on this. Tell us your real feelings about her.
Serena crossed the line, pure and simple. The lines woman saw a foot fault, and she had to call it, even at that stage of the game. Serena then lost her cool. Roid rage? She just lost it. I watched Nastase, Connors, McEnroe, and they all had tempers on the court, but Serena entered a zone of her own. Shes a great player, a tough competitor, an amazing fighter, and props for her and her sister getting out of Compton, an amazing story. But it all gets lost under this incident. Plenty of white athletes also act like jerks, I don't think its a total race thing.
Plus, if Serena hadn't smashed her racket earlier during the match (and gotten a verbal warning), she wouldn't have been assessed the point penalty at match point.
Absolutey no comparison. Serena is dirt bag but what Joe Wilson did was so much worse. Serena was elected to nothing. Joe is an elected representative that not only disrespected all Americans but he actually interfered with the communication between the president and the people. Joe Wilson is shamed democracy and brought classlessness to a new level.

Until then, she needs to know her place. Shouting rude things at the president during an address to congress is protected by one's right to freedom of speech. Doing so during a heated athletic competition (with hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake) is clearly not protected and is a clear sign that our society is at death's door.
Saying "You lie." is quite different than a physical threat. If the senator said he was going to shove the microphone down Obama's throat, he would have been arrested.
BTW, Serena wasn't DQ'ed. She was assessed a 1 point penalty, which happened to be on match point.
I was wondering if the lineswoman maybe didn't speak English as her first language (this is held in Flushing after all). "Shove this ball down your throat" is kind of an idiom. However, someone who isn't a native speaker might have interpreted it more literally than I might have.
Regardless, the lineswoman felt threatened, and I would have too.

Serena's a whiner, Jordan was a winner
Passion for the game? Please. Serena's foot should go right in her yapper after her classless rant Saturday, Jason Whitlock says.

100% TRUE!!
If anyone can post a link to the interview, please do so. I saw it and there was hardly a shred of any self accountability. She explains away her act by saying she is very competitive. Please. Any attempt by the interviewer to deal with what Serena DID resulted in a smile and "move forward", "can't change the past", "learn from the past".
HORSESH!T. Serena was being beaten handily and could not take it. She lost her cool and got up in the judges face in a swearing tirade with finger pointing and going in way too close.
Then she pulls the sympathy card and resorts to more deflection in the interview by dedicating the book to her murdered sister.
Take responsibility for your mistake and apologize sincerely with no asterisks or qualifying statement. And then be a better sportsperson.
Until then you are just a spoiled star with your own version of your father's tired act. Oh yeah, you would have gotten beaten without that call. Take a look at the entire match. The better player won that day and would that call would not have mattered.
I think you are talking about the Good Morning America interview that aired today.

The more I think of it, the more Serena looks like Lebron James; pretty ugly.
I cant believe some of you have tried to turn this into a John McEnroe thing

a) I was initially responding more angrily to the blatant racist statements by one of the other posters, not "RUkiddingme".
b) I mainly called RUkiddingme a racist because he made the statement:
"Serena looked like a street thug trying to intim(id)ate and rob someone out there ". You, I, and everyone else knows that "street thug" is code word for "black criminal" (rarely if ever used for to describe a white person), and then he topped it off with "looked like (she was)...trying... to ROB someone" ??? Now THAT deserves and "RUkiddingme?!" response more than anything. Completely racist garbage. How on earth does a women in a skirt with a tennis racket look like a "street thug trying to rob someone" other than the fact that she is big and black (which in the mind of racists automaticallt =
s criminal)?
c) I still say that McEnrone's worst oubursts were as nearly as bad as this one by Serena. Serena maybe even went further with the "if I could, I would. ... shove a tennis ball down your throat." But McEnrone's racket throwing, screaming, demeaning, name-calling, swearing, and threatening the jobs of officials (you will never work here again/never work one of my matches again) was not far off, AND he did it about 100X more often in his career than Serena. I still think RUkidding me and others give him a bit of a pass when they say: he was more just acting like a baby, but SERENA....she acted like a violent street criminal who threatened to murder an official.
Anyway, I was only responding to the overt racism and slight double standard comments I saw being applied in this case. If all I had read on this thread was people saying: what a clown, wow she went off and acted like a psycho, she pulled a page out of Johnny Mac's book, that was unacceptable she got what she deserved and probably deserves a suspension, etc', I probably would not even have commented, because those are all fair statements. I am not surprised by professional athletes acting like morons, or being/acting violent.
I saw no reason to bring up race, but that is what several posters immediately did.

That Serena said other noxious things does not remove her threats to kill the woman. It's like if I say "You're a good guy, but you're an idiot." Then I could say hey I said you're a good guy, not an idiot. That's your point.
She said what she said. The statements are verified on the video by the lineswoman AND the people in the stands.

Why? Because it tarnished Kim's victory over Sernea...and Sernea knew that?...In my opinion that is why she acted way she did so she didn't have to play the final points in which she probaby would of lost (in most peoples opinion), and she didn't want to lose straight up to anyone! This way she can claim she lost because of the call or the judges. You know what I mean, there will always be a "what if" attach to it now. Sort of sad don't you think? What you would call a very bad loser or some would say a very bad example of sportmanship! Either way I am proud how Kim took the high road and went go win the championship. No the other had to watch Sernea go to the losest level was embarrassing at so many levels! And yes she looked like a excon looking to beat up her accuser!
Did Serena Williams threaten to shove HER balls, or the tennis balls down that line judge's throat?
