Like even when it's at night and shit. What is it about the 400 in particular?

agreed, i was laughing during all of the introductions
I never wore them because I thought it looked cheesy (especially since I couldn't break 48) but my eyes would tear up from the wind and I always thought they might solve that problem. While it didn't slow me down much, it distracted me a little. Just my (admittedly incoherent) two cents.

Bolt should wear them then, quite a bit of wind for him
Hey, I never said it was scientific. Maybe it doesn't affect everyone. All i was doing is pointing for a reason why they might be wearing them.

Bolt should wear aviators...
This sport is getting geekier every day. Not as bad as triathlon, but inching closer.
The sport is getting geekier, but it's still has more geeks.
There is a reason, if you don't know you are pretty naive. Mature quickly before the world leaves you behind.
Think - professional athletes.

I'm stumped. What?
They smoked a doobie right before the race?
But why would 400 meter runners be more inclined to smoke out right before a race?
I'm serious, spell this shit out for me.
400 meters is the only sprint where they run a full lap. therefore, the sun is in their eyes at some point if it's a day meet and outdoors. plus, wariner's a huge tool.

Your a tool and that is not why they wear the sunglasses

at least i can spell.
Everyone has to admit that Wariner is indeed a tool. The fastest tool in history no less. Nice guy, hard worker, not the brightest bulb, what with the Hart fiasco and such. Bottom line is that the USOC and USATF appreciates really fast 400m guys, no matter their tool quotient.
Who do they think they are...triathletes?
When Wariner was going sub-44, he could get away with the earrings and sunglasses, but now since he is losing...he needs to take off his arrogance and leave it at home.
many black guys look cool in shades, JW - nothing could make HIM cool, but is still a great runner, especially for a white guy.

In time they'll help cover up the yellow bits.
