Clinton portis? past his prime, Chicago D overrated...
I'm just curious... do you typically play in a 6 team league with a bunch of junior high girls? Or in a 12 team league with passionate football fans?
I ask this because I wonder who you would've taken in the 8th round as your WR#2. OR in the 5th as your QB, after the following were already selected: Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Warner, Rivers, Romo, McNabb, & Ryan?
Just curious, that's all. I mean, a genius like you would've found a way to land Brees, Peterson, and Fitzgerald, right?

He's 28 and just had one of his best seasons -- 1500 rushing yards last year.

Team B has Purple Jesus...... He will outscore most running back combos on his own.

I'm not a Portis fan - similarly to Moss, he's streaky and injury prone. B.
Not so. He missed half of 2006 with a bad hamstring and a disastrous offensive line. Other than that, he's been a model of consistency. He has missed one game in four other years with Washington. He's had about 380 touches in each one of those years. Over his seven NFL seasons he's averaged over 110 yards/game rushing and receiving.
Can you imagine what his numbers would be if he got to face the AFC West defenses instead of the NFC East?
B is for best. But really, backups in a league this deep are just as important.
Warner is solid and extremely consistent when healthy. If he goes down (very possible considering his age and injury history), this team will suffer. MJD is overrated this year - I would never draft him in the first round. He will not explode this year as the featured back - his optimal role is the one he had last year. Barber will produce lower fantasy scores than he did at the beginning of last year but will still get his TDs and (hopefully) stay healthy over 16 games. The receivers are terrible and a huge liability. Gonzalez will be solid but not as dominating (compared to the other TEs) as he was last year. This guy probably wasted too high a pick on both Gostkowski and Pittsburgh.
Rank: Tied for 4th
Schaub is, like Warner on the previous team, an injury risk with elite QB upside. If healthy for 16 games, he could easily throw for 25-28 TDs and 4,000 yards. This team has the best RBs of any of the teams. AP (did you guys watch the first play of the game last night?) is a beast and Portis should stay healthy over the season with Betts spelling him a little more - Portis will still get the important carries. I actually think the WRs are pretty solid. Steve Smith was generally top-5 last year among WRs (depending on the scoring) even after missing two games, and Donald Driver is a fine, if not "sexy," WR2. Witten will be a top TE easily and the K and DEF really don't matter (Chicago is solid though).
Rank: 1st
Brady will come down this year from his last full season (obviously), but I think he will still throw 30-35 TDs. I think he'll be the second best QB behind Brees. Westbrook is great when he's healthy, but is almost a lock to miss a few games every year. It's a huge plus that you have McCoy, who has looked good in the pre-season. LenDale White should have a pretty similar season to last year, and he's the reason why Chris Johnson is NOT a first-rounder. I like him more as a flex though because of his inconsistency (tied to TDs). I really like Colston this year - I think he's a top 10 WR who you can get later. At the same time as liking Colston a bit more than others, I don't like Vincent Jackson that much. I don't think the Chargers will throw as much and Gates, if healthy, will always be the main target. I think Dallas Clark benefits the most from Marvin Harrison's complete absence and finishes ahead of, say, Tony Gonzalez in points.
Rank: 2nd
Hasselbeck is another guy that, if he stays healthy, can reemerge as a top-10 QB. His health is a huge concern though - his back problem is something that doesn't heal completely and could come back with seemingly little trauma to it. I think this team probably has underrated RBs. I really like both Gore and Thomas this year. Gore should excel in the new system in SF and has a solid back-up to spell (but not vulture from) him when needed. Thomas has looked like a stud when he gets to start, and we all know Bush isn't going to stay healthy. I also don't buy Mike Bell stealing any significant carries. WRs are solid with Fitz being the portrait of consistency and Housh looking for a huge bounce-back year. The QBs of both of these guys do scare me a little though. Health will be this team's ticket to success or failure more so than the others. I don't know what to think of Winslow - he's got the upside, but the QB situation is murky (even with Leftwich the starter - he looked terrible the other night).
Rank: 3rd (if all goes well...)
I think Rivers is overrated this year and will throw no more than 25 TDs (9 less than last year). I think Forte is the number 3 RB (behind AP and Turner) and will be a consistent performer. Jacobs will be great when healthy but the injury specter is always there. Does this team have Bradshaw, the sure number 2? This team's WRs are not good. Antonio Bryant is overrated with weak QB play and Donnie Avery is injured with an even worse QB and team. Ouch. Shockey too is overrated and is probably the 5th option on the Saints' offense. This team should have secured a top WR earlier.
Rank: Tied for 4th
I like Matt Ryan quite a bit this year. He's a year older and more experienced, I think they throw more this year, and he's got a new hall-of-famer to throw to. He's got massive upside. I really like Turner too, and don't have a problem with the two being on the same team. I don't, however, like Ronnie Brown at all. You may have heard this before, but he basically had one huge game last year and was completely mediocre after that. You've still got Ricky Williams and the Dolphins running game is too gimmick-oriented to get the most out of Brown fantasy-wise. I like Reggie Wayne to have a bounce back year, and like him among the Steve Smiths, Roddy Whites and Greg Jenningsss of the world. Lee Evans, however, is a weak number two WR. Gates should be great this year, top 4.
Rank: 6th
Last thing I'll say is that every team does have question marks, and depending on health, any team could rocket to the top or plummet to the bottom very easily. Makes it damn difficult to rank, as I could reasonably see any one of these teams winning it all.
Good luck this season.

Interesting that you don't think this team is in the top 6. I would actually place it securely in the top 3.
Palmer is a question mark but, if healthy, he's got the skill and the weapons (85, Chris Henry, Coles) to be top-10. This team has great RBs. DeAngelo Williams is highly underrated and a top 5 guy IMO. Slaton should be solid again this year, and could even be "great" if the Texans' offense really starts clicking. The WRs are very good too. Roddy White is a surefire WR1 and Welker is a great WR2 with Brady back and healthy. I think Keller is one of those TEs with a lot of upside. Overall, this team is very solid and looks like it will be a very consistent performer week to week, and consistency wins championships.
You know what? You're right. This team is pretty solid - especially at RB. I should've put this among the top six. I appreciate all the input. My pals are equally pissed and impressed with the feedback.
Team B by a solid margin imo.
10 man league with grown men, with jobs and lives not pencil neck lets run dorks...but seriously is Team B your team? If so I assume you had the first overall pick because you have Peterson...I also have the 1st pick in my draft which is this monday (real leagues draft after the preseason is over) this is a good mock draft for me to study...
10 team leagues are for girly girls ;)

Nah, team C was mine. I had the 8th pick. Team B was 1st overall.
