What are you, 12 years old?
You really think I'm going to respond to that kind of stuff?
It looks like I was rather hasty in offering you the benefit of the doubt...Douche.

So Rupp's 100 meter time is the only one you can hit with 100% accuracy. I understand. You know the funny thing is even though you call yourself "geezer," since all your other claims are false, I'm guessing I'm probably older than you. Although I see why you would think any kind of challenge to your "I know because I know" expertise would be seen as immature. I find all of your name calling and swearing quite sophisticated in contrast. For every thread you've ruined with your false knowledge and insults, this is payback.
Congrats.
Both of you have ruined this thread. And you sound dumb. Especially when you respond with things like "I'm not going to respond to that". That IS a response. Do the rest of us a favor and create your own thread where you can argue.
You are right of course. In my defense, I didn't jump in until the thread had already started to derail with the Rupp debate. I am a lurker mainly and have seen geezer destroy too many threads but even worse, I have seen some people actually think he knew what he was talking about due to his false claims. I picked this thread to expose him since it was so easy to bait him into saying completely indefensible things. This is my last post on the thread. You have my apologies if you think the thread had more potential. I just hope people will remember this the next time he trolls with his "I know sprinting mechanics, distance runners don't sprint, I ran 10.5 and sub 5 mile" garbage. Carry on.

Debating is fine. That's what this thread is about. It's the name calling and insults that are the problem
Well, with that other poster out of the way, we can return to some decorum.
I think that we all pretty much agree that Bolt couldn't go 4:30...but why not return to one of my favorite topics, whether Wariner could go 4:30, on only whatever training he currently does for the 400?
Does he do any "long runs" of, say, 3k or 5k during base?
Anybody know? d?

What exactly are the conditions? 4:30 off of current training or 4:30 EVER?
I do NOT think Bolt can do it off of current training, but if he trained for it... Of course he could. There's no reason why not

I don't know about JW, but Angelo Taylor said that in preseason he does long runs -with hills- at least 2x week.
I think Wariner does long runs only once per week.

seriously?? Don't sit there and act like the problem was with touche and myself.......my point was from my own experience of a distance runner, that does not have very good speed, and I ran under 12 from blocks. So, certainly someone with pretty decent speed in Rupp could. I wish i knew who you were so i could slap you in your mouth.

Reviving this old thread and responding to only the last comment by MonBro, the video of the 2013 US 5000m Championship will shortly be posted on the web, if you want to see Lagat CRUSHING Rupp in a distance sprint.
It has also happened in the past, although I'm not going to dredge up the vid for you, you can find it yourself. If you're too lazy, just look at the 2013 US 5,000m
Rupp would be around where Farah was--13 seconds--if he was lucky.

He has run 50 seconds in a workout
If he lost weight maybe.
Keep in mind he's 200 lbs.

13 is a bit slow, don't you think? I'd guess low 12s.
