Okay little boys and little girls, listen closely- my comment was a joke. I am not sure how anyone could actually think that I was serious about that. Maybe it's time for some of you to develop some social skills.
Oh, and all British people have funny looking teeth.
[that's another joke]
Okay so I believe that this is really rediculous. GB already made the final. That was really a sissy move to make. Just because they couldn't catch patton down the home stretch they are gonna protest. I am very dissapointed that they were disqualified. I agree with Ato Boldon on this one though. Ots about the BATON not the ATHLETE. And in my eyes that exchange was legit. Also I think that the officials should have just ignored the protest by GB because, again, THEY ALREADY MADE THE FINAL why the f@#% does it matter! I mean this is complete bs.
It is in no way a smart strategy or plan at all. Seeing weakness and crap. It is just being a complete poor sport and sore loser. I really just want to believe that they weren't dq'd I mean this is rediculous. These are supposed to be grown men. Tyson Gay did complain about anything when he lost to Bolt. He was humble. Why can't GB be humble that they at least MADE the final and accept their competition and use it to get a new national record. I am completely dissapointed in GB display of poor sportnamship. This is NOT what the World Championships are for.

If we screwed up, fine. I am not sure of the rule but I think you are wrong in saying Jamaica (Usain Bolt) would be tossed for this. GB would not have the guts to protest them and ruin the final and the officials would be loathe to kick out Jamaica.
Oh right, the US is always a victim of conspiracies, I forgot that for a minute. Thanks for reminding us.
I just saw the reply on NBC. It looked like the baton was exchanged within the zone. The anchor leg's body and hand looked like it was in the zone to me. The ruling was total BS! The US gained no advantage at all.
The WWII references that routinely crop up on this board do make you wonder exactly what Americans are taught in high school... you can decide who the 'noble' nation is:
Sept 1, 1939 - Nazis invade Poland.
Sept 3, 1939 - Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand declare war on Germany.
Sept 5, 1939 - United States proclaims neutrality
Sept 10, 1939 - Canada declares war on Germany; Battle of the Atlantic begins
Dec 7, 1941 - Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor
Dec 8, 1941 - United States and Britain declare war on Japan
Dec 11, 1941 - Germany declares war on the United States.
1942-1944: US kicks some serious ass in Europe.

That should be - the USSR kicks some serious ass in Europe.
The US also takes part.

Interesting map. As for the ass-kicking, the US didn't have an impact on the war in Europe until the Germans' fortunes had already reversed after Stalingrad. America's entry into the war accelerated the defeat of the Axis, but it would have happened anyway. America's participation was arguably more important in establishing the post-war borders.
Americans (the stupid ones) love to say that if it weren't for them, all Europeans would be speaking German today. In fact, some of them probably would be speaking Russian, but not Britain. Most likely the "Iron Curtain" would have been a few hundred miles further west.
Now, explain to us again why this has to be brought up every time America loses in sports. Are you really such primitive morons?
No conspiracy. Actually I would respect it more if it came from a team facing elimination, which GB was not. I am just saying that GB would not have had the nerve to try and toss the world's biggest star on such a borderline call. You have to watch the replay really closely to see any violation. I would not want the US federation to try and toss Jamaica on something like that and I did not like what they did to Matina. If we did try and toss Jamaica for something like that I would say that we are cowards afraid of facing Jamaica.
They got bronze, they would not have if the US was in the race (and got the stick around).

Still sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. But hey, you're in good company here on letsrun. I'm sure rojo will back you up.
Nice try. You will not even argue it - the brits knew they could not compete with the US. If the US did that to Jamaica we would be laughed off the track and rightly so. What's the conspiracy?
All I know is that the British are a bunch of pussies.
