It is when you drop 10 seconds in your 1500, and who knows how much in your 5k.

yeah, too bad she just SMASHED the AR...
stfu
thank you
Ha pretty sure Jenny just paced way bettter than half the field, fair play on all accounts. Surely thats much faster than her Pb and American record.?
9.12 maybe?
Good time in the end, but she was coming on so strong, wish she could've gone maybe half a lap earlier.
Barringer AR 9:12.5 5th,,,,great run 3rd was 9:08
She looked like she had a a lot left, AR. What if...she stuck her nose in that lead pack of seven.
Are you kidding? Are people really this ignorant or is it just the 60/40 troll ratio on LRC coming into effect? She SMASHED her American record. Amazing run, wonder what her last 3 laps were, she came from WAY back to snag 5th. Great run Jenny B!
new AR by 10 sec., not bad at all! Its just getting better. Hopefully her and A.Willard will run a steeple race in the next few weeks, they are the future for the US

No one's ignorant here. The way she moved up in the last two laps, there's no reason to think she couldn't have grabbed a medal if she had gone even 100 meters earlier.
9:12.50 for J.B.
Jenny B ran a great race, and it's impossible to say otherwise considering her new AR! She's got more great times in her future, and I'm looking forward to seeing them.
p.s. Why is that stupid spam message coming up? This is my 3rd attempt at posting a LEGIT RUNNING RELATED POST.
It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant the runners are who post on here. It was beyond amazing how ignorant the announcers were describing Barringers race. They never gave a split (which they probably didn't even know) and they never put her pace in context what Barringer had run before or to the american record. They basically just gave up on her half way through the race and then acted surprised when she moved up to 5th. Any idiot could see that from the 4:45 mark on, she was running much faster than anyone around her and was working her way up as others slowed down who went out too fast.
Barringer ran a great race but because of the ignorance of the announcers, the casual fan will go away thinking she did poorly.
If you take out the drug-taking Russians, Jenny gets a medal

you mean too bad
Corrections aside, she did great.
To think she was only 10 seconds back from what McAdams ran in his steeple heat. She could probably be on the men's steeplechase team.
