so i've read all the posts for base mileage build-up for the 2:3x marathon type guys. ramp it up to 100+ mpw over the summer, find a fast course and get started on marathon specific stuff.
and that is super....if you are a 2:3x marathoner. problem is, i'll never even sniff that time.
what would be a reasonable base build-up for someone with a full-time job, wife, kids, dogs, goldfish...just a regular dude who will run 60-70 mpw and run low 3:0x or maybe on a perfect day eek out a high 2:5x. (currently have run high 3:0x on a hilly course on 60 mpw).
would 45-50 mpw for 10 weeks be good enough before beginning marathon specific stuff? 8 weeks at 40-45 mpw?
anyway, take it easy.
thanks for any input.
