If it isn't short, where was this race at so I can see if it is USATF certified.

I say you are full of shit. Here are the only runners that have ever run 22:38 and finished 7th. Which one are you?
22:38 ( 7) Anthony Milovsorov (ENG) 04 Nov 1958 04 May 1986 York ENG
22:38 a ( 7) Josephat Ngetich (GA/KEN) 1986 11 Nov 2006 Richmond VA USA
He said he was beaten by 6 kenyans. So he is probably not the Kenyan. I also doubt he is the guy that ran it over 20 years ago.
He's sub 4 and a 3:40 guy. He's real legit. All of these people hating on his credentials are fools.
Ben True is an excellent runner as a matter of fact aren't all runners better than mostly obnoxious non-runners?.. you know'em the same idiots who cut us off in their cars and then give us the finger like we're in their way...come-on people lighten up and stand together. Last time I checked one great thing about running is that we're all in this together . I mean do you finish your race and then stand and boo everyone else that may not be quite as fast as you? Of course you don't do this in person so don't do it here anonymously. Great work Ben!
I rarely post on this site for a reason. Everyone jumps on good runners for slamming good runners but that's how competitors were meant to think. I am jaded because I guess you can say I am the best runner no one ever talked about and I long for the day someone slams me on this site because that's how you know you have made it. I wasn't going to say my exact time (maybe a tad slower?), place, nationality or race because you obviously have time and are resourceful enough to find out, plus it was too long ago for anyone to remember. And I do sound like a whinny b**ch I just wanted to illustrate that this performance is no more note worthy than the 40 other Americans who could do that right now. Although he hasn't done much he has a lot of potential so when he turns in a note worthy performance I'll applaud him for it, not for this, this doesn't deserve the front page.
Check this out he is certainly multi - talented!

and he met the president!
bump
1. Ben True of Eugene, 14:04
2. Carlos Trujillo of Eugene, 14:04
3. Jonathon Riley of Portland, 14:05
At the Strands 5k.
ben true lost to ahmed haji twice in the New England Cross Country championships.
Wow, good thing he can keep up WR 1500 pace for 800m. Oh, wait, he can't, because he's a laughable C-team squelch squader. Good luck breaking 3:40 Ben! Really.
This is probably the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen on letsrun.
Sweet! True can pace Boston for the first 5 miles! This a non story, Haji smoked him twice in new englands
Whoever posted this must not have spent much time on LetsRun. This is the standard level of ridiculousness that appears here (even back in 2009).

Geez, 13:24, 28:16. What a 3rd rater. Only on Letsrun.Brojos, on that alone you should shut this place down. It's terrible here. You guys ought to be totally ashamed for letting this stuff go on for so long. Oh I forget $ cha ching! you're making munny

Get a grip man.
The problem is that 'stuck with' character bumping a thread from over two years ago, for no real apparent reason.
Nothing to do with the thread itself.
That's a good time for a solo run for him and indicative that he has strong potential to go sub 13:40 and 28:40 real soon. He could qualify for the Olympic Trials in the 1500, 5000, and 10,000.
Which means he is one of the top 35-50 runners in the country. So what's the big deal of someone commenting on a low key race for a national class runner? Jeez you guys a bunch of know-all children. You remind me of high schoolers that rip to shred someone who is mentioned on hear running any time that isn't an all-time record.
"9:14 for 3200 as a freshman big deal he sucks! Because so and so from California ran 9:04."
I guess he definitely ran faster than that then. I knew I recognized the name as a top runner. What was the point of bringing this back? To see who's paying attention?
