4:40 pace aint exactly flying with today's comp.
That's cool.
Too bad the Kenyan runners run that as a split time during marathons.
Only on Letsrun's message boards will you get someone saying 4:40 pace for 5 miles in a low key, community race 'isn't flying'.
Exactly...great run and glad that he is still on a roll.
Tell you what expert..go try running 4:40 miles back to back five times..outstanding run Ben..only letsrun
Solid time if you're in high school.

I agree 100% with Lone Wolf. Good for Ben True, great bit of running. The critics are a bunch of carpers and crappers. Time to quote TR about the man in the arena.
is this worth a thread? wrote:

Please post your times that are faster than 23:27 for 5m.

not necessary, its punks like you that ruin lets run
Why are we making threads about road races in Maine that are won in completely mediocre times. Is this a new trend on LetsRun?
I'm running the Ocean Park 5k this coming Saturday in Maine. I'll make sure to make a thread about it after.
Wow, I hadn't been here in a while and had forgotten that it's filled with giggling adolescents whose hand have to leave the keyboard every few seconds to either pop a few zits or give the ol' soft pee-pee a few heroic tugs.
As Darth Vader might have put it: "Letsrun...the Tard is strong in that one."
Try going to your local track and running one lap in 70 sec., that's what Ben did for 20 of them without a break by himself on the roads.

With a name like yours I'm not sure you should be criticizing ...
Ben True? Was this guy good enough to run US Nationals? Didn't think so.

Well, then you were wrong.

Considering he qualified, and ran at us nats. I think so.
Nice run for Ben!
That would be fun to be a runner of True's caliber and just rip a local race every once and a while. He must have had a 10 second lead at the 200 mark.
He did run nationals? What did he do, run 14:10 in the heats of the 5000?

Here's an idea. Try looking it up. You might try that for many things to avoid being a complete moron.
