Get with it. There is NO medical association on earth that recommends circ.
The AAP says while there **may** be some benefits to it, they do not outweigh not getting it.
We didn't do it to our baby and it is becoming more and more common not to.

The AAP actually states -
After reviewing multiple studies on circumcision, the AAP reports that "the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks."
What are the risks of getting circumcised?
Complications of newborn circumcision are uncommon, occurring in between 0.2% to 3% of cases. Of these, the most frequent are minor bleeding and local infection, both of which can be easily treated by your doctor.
Yeah, go ahead & don't get your child circumcised & have them face increased risks of cancer, infection, HIV, STDs, Urinary Tract Infections, ridicule etc.
Easy decision

Read further. The AAP does NOT recommend circumcision. NO medical association does. The benefits are minuscule.
False
I also forgot about the protection against HPV for men and women. Many studies have been done on the risks on not circumcising your child. (Especially the risk for HIV, & UTI.)
Circumcision and Human Papillomavirus Infection in Men: A Site-Specific Comparison
The Journal of Infectious Diseases
Peer Reviewed Journal 2008
Men who aren't circumcised have an increased risk of HPV infection localized to the glans/corona.
Male circumcision reduces HPV risk for female partners
International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, Peer Reviewed Journal, 2011
Most risks are when you are older, though they do not seem that high. I say let the individual make the informed decision at or near adulthood and teach the kid good hygiene in the interim. I'll pay for my son's procedure if he decides to get it snipped as a young man.
It's not like a vaccine that would result in young kids getting a communicable disease.

These results aren't miniscule
Male circumcision and risk of HIV infection in sub-Saharan Africa: a systematic review and meta-analysis. AIDS. 2000
The strongest association was seen in men at high risk, such as patients at STD clinics, for whom the adjusted relative risk was 71% lower for circumcised men.
The one large prospective cohort study in this group showed a significant protective effect: The odds of infection were 42% lower for circumcised men
But that's in Africa, you may say. What about the USA?
Male circumcision and risk of HIV infection among heterosexual African American men attending Baltimore sexually transmitted disease clinics. J Infect Dis. 2009
Among heterosexual men with known HIV exposure, circumcision was associated with a statistically significant 58% reduction in risk for HIV infection.
I intend to cut the risk of STDs for my children through good parenting and education rather than mutilation
Stop it. He said he doesn't want to hear the health arguments. Did you even read the OP?
Looks like the answer to the OP's question is obvious.

I'm sure the infection risk would be even lower if they just cut the whole dik off. Doesn't make it a good idea though

I did not have my son circumsized, but if he wants it later in life I will pay for it.
Your quote is ridiculous. I am personally just going to teach my son to not engage in risky behavior that might result in HIV infection.
Perhaps if I lived in Baltimore or sub saharan africa I might feel differently, but it turns I live in rural NY on a farm. I am not too worried about HIV.
I thought about it a lot as an expecting father. Ultimately I tried watching a video of the procedure and could not get through it.
Why put an infant through a painful procedure that is unnecessary.
well, I don't remember my circumcision. I am sure you don't either. It can't be that bad.
Please for the love of god make your son circumsiesd. I'm not circumcised and it is crap when taking a shower..
There's an hpv vaccine now. Everyone reading this should get one. Especially you virgins out there.

my friend,
please for your son's sake just snip it. No joking, no moral arguments, and no health arguments here.
good luck!
Really? I refused the surgery for my Son 35 years ago.
Its a religious practice, so if you're Jewish go ahead.
Its usually excused by ridiculous statements like "He needs to look like his Dad" Or " What happens when all the other boys at school see it?"
But what really put me off is that its a surgery done without anesthesia. The baby screams his head off from the insult, and there are deaths associated.
My feeling is that he could make a decision when he is older, and have the surgery then.
I cared more about my Baby than about the woman wanting the end of his dick cut off because it was a tough labor, or due to the fact that people might talk about him if you left an extra piece of skin on it.
It hasn't been a health thing since 50 bc. And if you are on a plane taken over by terrorists you can wave it and claim immunity.
I have no use for this thread without photographs.
Uncircumcised looks like an anteater. You Hessians are disgusting
The LRC resident expert on the subject is the poster Trews.
Circumcised vs uncircumcised always comes down to the same thing; circumcised guys say its better while uncircumcised say it isn't. Basically nobody wants to admit that they are inferior. That said, I am uncircumcised and I cannot see how it isn't better in every possible way. All the arguments against being uncircumcised are just things circumcised people come up with to try and convince themselves that it is worth it. I guess none of it really matters at the end of the day but I guarantee you sex and masturbation is better if you have foreskin (jerking off without it just sounds horrible) and also, you haven't lived until a girl has a slid her tongue between your foreskin and the tip of your d***. Circumcision is really only a thing in the states, and it only continues to be a thing because people are too proud to give in and not do it to their child. Its a choice made solely to conform to how people think society is telling them to behave, basically the most American thing ever.

This guy is definitely circumcised lol. Washing is no different

If God wanted guys to be circumcised he would have designed them without foreskins.
If god wanted us to not have our wisdom teeth removed, he wouldn't have invented impacted molars.
Also having a boy soon. I'm getting him snipped. Listened to Stern too many times and hearing the guys on the show talk about cleaning, smells, etc. that comes along with uncut is just not for me. No girl is going to complain about a cut penis. Also, the whole "more sensitive" argument is a bunch of crap.
