I was interested to see how much people vary during track sessions on their own and with a training group?
Say if you was doing 400m reps. How much slower would you be running them on your own than if you was training with a training group?

I think running with a group will make you run faster but there are 2 things to consider.
Will doing your track repeats faster really achieve anything? If you run them fast enough on your own to get all the training benefits from them, then maybe running them faster will only bring on the negatives, like excess fatigue, injury, etc. (Read in one of the sticky threads about this, racing your repeats is not always a good idea)
If you can't run your track repeats fast enough on your own, where are you getting your paces from?
Another problem i have with group is agreeing on a workout. Sometimes you may want 1600s or 1200s, and the group is leaning towards 400s. Now in the grand scheme of things this probably does not matter in the long run (what you should be thinking of anyway) but sacrificing your workouts to please the group can only lead you down the wrong road.
