Ok, now you are really starting to embarrass yourself with silly little "I'm gonna get in the final dumb retort on message board fight" routine. You should have quit while you were behind by just a little (instead of now, when you are getting lapped. You probably heard that one throughout your running "career" too, right?)
Hey. I can't help I'm a little bitch. Who are you to judge?
First, no athlete should celebrate before about 2 meters till the finish.
Run the damned race, finish, through your arms up at the "tape," you're done. Slap hands/whatever with your teammates.
I say, if this guys coach could not focus him better to the realities of his rep, and influence him to a higher standard of behavior -- that it is a reflection of the coach as well.
My coach would have thrown anyone off the team that acted that way. And we would have deserved it.
Kinda funny though...these place allows classless behavior by design... And one of the owners is a coach of this athlete. It all kind of melts together.
Class and sportsmanship flow from the top down.
How in the world this Wyner's coach could not have his athletes head screwed on straight... Well sometimes that is a part of coaching too.
Bolt was a dick at the Olympics. Is anybody else sick of Bolthype already?
At least this underlines the point that one reason people hate Jimmy is that people are often jealous of faster athletes.

I think its a big deal. It's tough to win an Outdoor heps title. I love how some people act like the Heps is no big deal. To most of these guys its the biggest meet they ever have a shot at winning. Add in the team atmosphere and rivalries and it takes on a life of its own. Thats what makes it so great.
HEPS sounds a lot like baby nationals.

I find it laughable that you think any of the coaches in this league would throw one of the league's most talented athletes off his team for excessive celebration. Coach Taylor berated Jimmy after the race, looking like he wanted to rip Jimmy's head off. But it would take much more than that to get him kicked off any team. I think you would be hard pressed to find a single D1 coach in the country who would throw away a conference champion for such a thing.
Athletes aren't children and not that impressionable. They have their own personalities and shortcomings, which they may choose to hide or embrace. You can debate whether Wyner's actions were simply excitement, or something more dastardly--I think it was an instance of pride fueling ego, which should neither be applauded or condemned. However, to insinuate that the actions of an athlete are a reflection of a coach's character is personally irresponsible and nothing more than a low brow attack on Rojo. Whether you meant to imply it or not, you are also labeling other Cornell runners such as Hine and Miller, good competitors and reserved people, as classless.
I am curious if anyone has an answer to this: if a conference winner(Wyner) is disqualified for something that is not disqualifiable under NCAA rules, does he still have a claim for his automatic bid to regionals? or is it forfeited along with the title.
You must be new here. Again, your feelings don't matter to me, so save yourself the trouble and stop posting them.

It's forfeited. To the NCAA and every other governing body, Jimmy didn't win that race.
I find it ironic that Wyner was disqualified for showing his enthusiasm after winning his race going away, when it was the same enthusiasm that enabled him to win the race to begin with!
It's ironic, not coincidental - look it up ya cheeseheads.
I think the officials should have disqualified more people - I'm pretty sure I saw one guy smile on the starting line, and another guy high-fived someone. And it looked to me as if a lot of the guys were trying to run as fast as they could at the end of the race in order to win! Man, there's nothing worse than watching a race where a bunch of guys are trying their best to beat each other. What a bunch of jerks!
So, what have we learned from all of this?
Well, I've learned that if I want to see human emotion, I should watch the Lifetime Movie channel. And when I want to see robots plodding around the track like lifeless husks unable to celebrate their victories, I should watch Heps.
Peace out.
Any news on the DQs? I'm going to regionals!

That's because it's a baby conference!
I just saw the HEPS video, and while I think Wyner acted like a douche, he shouldn't have been DQed.
Now, what worries me are the numerous posts by In_Ithaca, a former Cornell student, who can't spell basic words.
"Maybe they should of DQd him."
"the same thing people would of cheered"
Seriously???? Ivy League??
You dug up an old thread for that? Kudos.
I dug up an old thread because I just watched the HEPS video on flotrack today. I was curious to see the LRC community's take on it so I used the search to find the thread. My first reaction was shock about the DQ (and the existing rule). Then the 5th grade spelling of an Ivy League poster shocked me even more. I'm sensitive like that.
BH makes more money than you (playing poker), and nails a lot more quality tail. Deal with it.
What's all the fuss about this hack anyway? He hasn't even made Nationa ... oh, crap, he has. Well, he hasn't even run the pathetic equivalent of a sub-4:00 mi ... oh, fudgesicles, he's done that too.
Well, uhhh ... (gotta keep trying to tear him down; that's all I've got, after all) ... uhhh ... (I'm sure I can find some level he hasn't reached, and this will prove he's no good) ... uhhh ... Oh, yeah! He's not even an Olympian, so he's a failure! And anybody who thinks he or the Ivy League in general is worth mentioning is a Baby Nationals caliber loser.
PS Typo - obviously I meant looser, not loser.
PPS ur all ghey.
PPPS Oh snap, I'm the effin' man fo' shizzle!
