Lame article. Says nothing about what he tested for, when the test was performed, when the results were confirmed.
What will Jim Rome have to say about Man Ram today?
Good bye Hall of Fame among other things
I did not think I could dislike him even more, but I guess I can.
So, 50 games huh? Looks like he'll be out for what, a week?
Baseball sucked before PEDs
It's such sweet redemption for a Giants fan.
I know that someone helped Manny write his statement, but at least there was nothing like most athletes give.
It is plausible that a doc would prescribe a med that is prohibited (heck propecia was once on the the WADA list).
I think it will be 5 more posts before someone screams "50 games is nothing compared to 2 years". True, but how many athletes even with a 2 year ban are going to lose ~$8 million! That is a pretty hefty loss.
I'm waiting for Pujols to test positive. I'm feeling more and more like there's not a clean player in the whole freaking league. It's gotta be very close to that, and I don't particularly care. Of course Manny's juiced. Why would the exception to the rule be the guy with the BEST numbers.

And look how bad Ortiz has gotten since MLB started testing. I know Ortiz has gotten a little older, but he downright sucks right now.
The most disturbing aspect of all of this is that Jose Canseco, who has previously claimed that Manny was using, has been proven right yet again.

I don't know, if you look up older statistics, a lot of players just drop off a cliff. Some have a steady decline and some just suck right away. They lose some bat speed, and they end up having to guess fastball and load up to get the timing right, only to look stupid on every changeup and breaking ball thrown at them.
Maybe Vlad Guerrero on steroids as well. I know his body's breaking down, but he sure went from totally awesome and impossible to pitch around, to not very scary pretty quick.

Ortiz has a very suspicious career arc. I feel certain he is a juicer. He was a utility player in Minnesota.

I think you mean a bench player. Utility implies he had some actual use (particularly in the field). All he can do is hit and he couldn't even do that well (at the time). He can't field 1b very well, so he sure as hell can't field any other position.
manny ramirez testing positive for peds is at least as bad for baseball as IF usain bolt were to be caught using, would be bad for track.
this is huge.

Have there been a disproportionate amount of Latino stars who have been caught or suspected of juicing? Maybe, maybe not.
Latino:
A-Rod
Manny
Sosa
Tejada
Palmiero
Canseco
Ortiz
Non-Latino:
Bonds
Clemens
McGuire
Giambi
Gagne
Petite
This is BASEBALL people, who cares

I disagree that this is bad for baseball. Nobody really cares whether there's PED use in the sport. When Alex Rodriguez gets busted it gives Yankee haters something to talk about, and likewise with Manny for Dodger or Red Sox haters. But that just stirs up interest, it doesn't turn people off from the game.
